Children enjoyed their day, listening to the story of the birth of Krishna, playing dandiya and the game of shaking the pot and taking the chocolates out. They also shared their snacks made of butter or milk with their friends.

Kindergarten August 2018

It was a pleasure to see our boys dressed up as Krishna and our girls as Radha to

celebrate Janmashtami on August 31. Children enjoyed their day, listening to the story

of the birth of Krishna, playing dandiya and the game of shaking the pot and taking the chocolates out. They also shared their snacks made of butter or milk with their friends.

Literacy- Pattern The children were introduced to slanting line strokes (left to right, right to left) on the activity sheet of mountains. Tracing curves left to right and right to left with ear buds on smiley face. Pre-math concepts The children enjoyed dabbing on rectangles, making snowmen with circles, constructing fish with triangles and making squares with Popsicle sticks. Gross motor skills- The children enjoyed walking on a Zig – Zag path Fine motor skills – The children worked with Montessori material: threading the beads, rolling the mat and transferring seeds from one bowl to another bowl with a spoon.

Theme for the month

Good Manners- The children learnt to greet, when to say sorry, to share things with their friends, to talk with their teacher and their friends by singing songs and stories. Good Habits- The children learnt about eating healthy food, cleanliness of body and cleaning up the mess. Independence day- The children enjoyed painting Indian flag using saffron, white and green colors.

Literacy The phonetic sound “m” and “a” were introduced with songs and pictures begins with ‘m’ and ‘a’ sound. Story reader- Neha who says ‘No’ Ritu and her family Vocabulary words – can, are, has, read, swim, help, draw, cat, all, what.

Numeracy

The children were introduced to shapes- circle, square, triangle and rectangle with songs, stories and tracing on metal insets.

The children were introduced to numbers 1 to 5 with songs and tracing on sand paper. They also learnt to associate the quantity with the right numbers.

Theme for the Month

Good manners-The children learnt the importance of personal hygiene - washing

hands, combing hair, having a bath.

Independence day- They enjoyed palm paint activity with tricolors.

Family – The children learnt about family with a song, story and making a family tree.

Theme for the month Well Being- Children were made to understand the importance of taking care of oneself by eating the right food, maintaining hygiene, exercising and protecting oneself from adverse situations. They enjoyed the discussions about what one must eat – healthy or unhealthy (junk) food. They were made aware about the importance of hygiene and washing hands regularly. Children were educated about safe and unsafe touch and how to react in an uncomfortable situation.

Brushing Activity: Children brought their tooth brush to school to learn how to brush their teeth independently. Children enjoyed this activity thoroughly. Clean and Dirty hands activity: Children drew the outline of both their hands on the chart paper and cut them. On one hand cut out they did blow painting to make it look dirty and the other was left as it is. They were excited to blow the paint on the cut out of their hand. Washing hand activity: Children were given a demonstration on how to wash their hands properly using liquid soap. They learnt to use soap and water diligently. Independence day- The children enjoyed painting on cutouts of hearts using tri colors. Family- We discussed the different kinds of families: nuclear and joint family. The

children also talked about their family and the members in their family.

Activities- The children made a family tree using their hand prints. A photo frame using

ice-cream sticks.

UKG August 2018

Independence Day

The Independence Day was celebrated on August 15th with a lot of vigor. Our

Kindergarten children performed on a medley of patriotic songs. They were

also part of the Grand Finale where they represented different states of

India. Our Children thoroughly enjoyed this experience.
