WELCOME Assurance is a church whose singular mission is to GROW and GO. Assurance is Growing Disciples of Jesus Christ so that we can Go serve Christ in the world. In GROWING and GOING, we emphasize three things: Spirit, Serve, and Share. We grow our Spirit in worship, prayer, and small group connections. We grow by Serving others inside and outside the walls of our church. And we Share our gifts and the Good News that God loves us all.
We are delighted that you chose to worship with us today. If you do not have a church home, we invite you to join us as we GROW disciples of Jesus Christ so that we can GO serve Christ in the world.

Stephen Ministers are available immediately following all services to offer communion to anyone who wishes and for prayer requests. Nursery and The Vineyard Sunday School for children are available at 9:30am and 11am in the GrowZONE at the Northlake Campus. Youth Sunday School meets at 11am in the Youth Cellar at Northlake Campus.

It's not to late to for youth ages 10-‐16 to get connected to the newly created recreational summer basketball program at Connections. For more information on how to get connected please email Dave Zietlow at [email protected]. Adult volunteers are also welcome.
It’s almost time to JUMP IN – August 23! This is the time where children Jump up to the next color carpet in Vineyard and Bunch. This is also a great opportunity for parents to Jump in to serve with their children. If you would like more information about how the KidMIN program works and how you can be a part of growing little disciples, email [email protected].
Don’t forget to save the date…ON THE WAY fellowship meals and small groups resume on September 2. It’s almost time to present our 3rd graders with their bibles. If your child is entering the 3rd grade this fall, please let us know. There is a form on the children/Sunday-‐stuff page of the website, or you can email [email protected].

Some of our Assurance pilgrims are in Guatemala this week. The pilgrims will learn from the people of Guatemala and join them in serving the community. Have you or someone you know lost a loved one? There is a new grief support and encouragement group beginning on Tuesday, September 8 at 6:30pm. To find out more or to sign up you can email Matt Start ([email protected]), visit the adult support groups page of the Assurance website, or call the church office (704-‐391-‐9567).
Many small groups will begin in the next few weeks. You can find a flyer with all the evening groups offered this fall on the Welcome Desk or as you arrived for worship today. You can sign up for groups by filling out and tearing off the bottom portion of the flyer and putting in the offering plate or on the desk in the church office. If you have any questions about the groups offered, please email [email protected] or call the church office at 704-‐391-‐9567.
The Micah’s Backpack Ministry will provide food for hungry school children over the weekends. A signup list has been created to help pack and deliver the backpacks and you can access it online at www.assuranceumc.org/outreach/food. If you’d prefer, you can call the church office to sign up (704-‐391-‐9567). There are postcards with info and shopping lists on the welcome desk. There is also need for gently used or new backpacks to get this ministry started! Matthew’s Closet is also trying to serve our school children with uniforms. All gently-‐used uniform items, can be left in the the Welcome Center baskets.
