Monitoring of rooms essentially needs to havecamouflaged transmitters, but in most cases nonew items can be placed into the room inquestion. Therefore already existing devices haveto be used and equipped with an unobtrusivetransmitter. For this purpose, the PKI 2275 is theright solution. Due to the very small size of thisprinted circuit board (PCB) mains poweredtransmitter, it does not need much space andvery easily can be concealed in sockets, lamps,junction-boxes etc. Additionally the protectivecover with a special lacquer shields fromoccasionally unwanted contacts and short-cuts.Depending on existing power supply, the PKI2275 can be supplied either in 110 to 115 VAC/60

The PKI 2380 system ensures recording andtransmission of smallest body sound signals inthe voice range. A piezo element with a diameterof 35 mm makes this possible. The miniatureaudio transmitter with super-broad spreadspectrum modulation and a transmissionbandwidth of > 40 MHz is virtually unlocatable.As a result of the modulation process, trackingwithout special decoder is made extremelydifficult. The development of directional microphones hasbeen part of the PKI business for more than 40years. The challenge is enormous, the demandimmense.

The PKI 2960 ultra-sensitive optical microphonecaptures a wide range of sounds from normalconversation to soft whispering or even theshuffling of papers with excellent soundaccuracy. Being designed for governmental usein SWAT, Special Task Forces and tacticaloperations it offers surveillance operations andapplications requiring RFI/EMI immunity. A beamof light is sent through an optical fiber to a soundsensitive membrane. PKI 3000 opens up an entirely new dimension ofaudio surveillance. Our Laser Monitoring SystemPKI 3100 offers the same opportunity, however,you are always dependent on the laser reflectionfrom the windows to be intercepted as regardsthe respective angle, i.e. the angle of incidenceequals the angle of reflection. Our new PKI 3000ensures a considerable independence fromangles. The invisible laser beam detectsminimum vibrations of objects being induced bypeople's conversations. The voice information istransmitted as a frequency modulation of theinvisible laser. The surface vibrations aredetected in the direction of the laser beam eventhrough a closed window. Noise outside the laserbeam does not interfere with the desiredmonitoring signal so that excellent results areachieved. The audio quality mainly depends onthe vibration characteristics of the selectedobject and on the distance. The detection point isinduced to vibrate by the sound waves of theperson to be intercepted. The vibrationsgenerate a Doppler frequency shift in thebackscattered laser. This signal is converted intoan audio signal by an interferometer withintegrated photo detectors and demodulationtechnology. PKI 3000 is a so-called opticalmicrophone and in contrast to a directionalmicrophone it penetrates almost all glass panesand thus records the conversations of persons tobe intercepted in the immediate vicinity. As thelaser beam only measures a few millimeters indiameter, target-oriented operation is ensured. PKI 3000 consists of the laser source ofprotection class 1 and the necessary IR lens withmanual fine adjustment. This way, the measuringdistance can be chosen between 5 m and max.150 m. In case of incorrect use, the protectionclass 1 laser does not provoke eye injuries. Themonitor unit converts the optical signal into anaudio signal, i.e. the built-in inverter processesthe digital data stream into an analog signal forthe headset. This is combined with theprofessional application of a high-qualityamplifier with equalizer, dynamic compressorand recording option. Additional dynamic fillersprovide for a good intelligibility. The internalvideo camera is indispensable for laser beamtargeting. As an accessory, video glasses canalso be connected. Moreover, the scope ofsupply includes a stable tripod with fine pan/tiltadjustment. The combination of the visual and

acoustic signal allows to quickly select andevaluate suitable objects such as bottles,furniture, vases, TV sets. If the target withoptimum acoustic properties is found within afew minutes, nothing then should stand in theway of the desired audio surveillance operation.The used highly sensitive interferometrictechnology with the invisible laser in the 1550nm range of course also has its disadvantagesand this is the price for the high-tech device PKI3000. PKI 3100

The PKI 3100 laser monitoring system wasdeveloped for covert observations in order toextend the surveillance to rooms which can notbe entered. As soon as there is a line of sight tothe room to be monitored (max. 300 m), the PKI3100 monitoring system can be used. Acoustic sound waves, as for example humanspeech, cause minute vibrations of the windowpanes of a room. The absolutely invisible laserbeam is sent onto the window of the room to bemonitored and is modulated by the vibrationsthere. This modulated laser light is picked up bya special receiver and demodulated (speech isrecovered) again. This signal can now be listenedto or also recorded. The set-up of such an opticalsystem can be quickly realised thanks to a pilottone function and graphic evaluation via thedelivered notebook. Operating Manual:PKI 3200 consists of a Piezo sensor, an opticalreceiver mounted on supplied tripod and a highpower transmitter with 50 mW output poweroperating in 870 nm IR range which is invisiblefor human eyes. At any time of use of PKI 3200there has to be a “line-in-sight” connectionbetween transmitter and receiver. By means ofthe stethoscope the sound-waves are taken fromsolid materials. Therefore the stethoscopetransmitter has to be placed to windows, door orwalls with mastic material. Using the Piezosensor at window-panes is quite uncomplicated.Just double-sheet glasses may induce to placethe transmitter at the window-frame instead ofthe window-glass itself.

Installation and operation of transmitter1) Insert battery in transmitter by openingbattery compartment and place 9V block battery2) Place the piezo sensor Ø30 x 18 mm which isbuilt in a small round housing with masticmaterial to a window pane, wall etc. The quantityof the mastic material depends on surfacestructure. transmitter. The green LED indicates that atransmitting signal is low and red LED shows thehighest possible signal-strength of this. Whenthe red LED shines fine tuning can be done by“tune” switch. The “volume” switch is for audiosignal to headphone. The receiver is fitted with athread suitable for mounting to the suppliedtripod. On top of the receiver an aiming device ismounted for the visual alignment betweenreceiver and transmitter in case of longerdistances. After the receiver is fixed on thetripod, a headset is connected to the relevant“phone” socket and the receiving unit is switchedon - the alignment to the transmitter can takeplace. By use of the aiming-device rough, optical alignment is possible. If there is no signal beingclearly received after the first alignment, slowlyturn the receiver or move the tripod slowly andcarefully till the signal is bright and clear. Holdthe tripod in this position and fix it. By the use ofthe turning-button “tune” at the backside of thereceiver, a sharp tuning to the transmittingfrequency can be achieved. The focussing-ring atthe objective (sharpness-control) is used foradjustment of the best possible signal-to-noise-ratio. The diaphragm of the objective normallyshould be opened to maximum. Only underbright sunlight conditions a partly closing of the diaphragm might be recommended for theimprovement of signal-reception.The socket“tape” at the back-side of receiver is provided forthe connection of a recording unit.





Observation vehicles must generally be selectedso that they are inconspicuous. For this purpose,a thorough investigation in the surroundings ofthe observation area is indispensable. In abusiness quarter, a black sedan e.g. is notparticularly striking, however, in a suburb it willattract the attention much more quickly. Popularmodels, sober colours; precisely, a neutralappearance is the prerequisite for an unobtrusive

observation. In case of mobile operations,possible observation routes must be consideredrequiring a thoroughly researched movingprofile or operational area of the persons or ofthe area under surveillance. Sufficient technicalreserves must be dimensioned so that it isensured that the person under surveillance cannot escape because of the surroundings orduring mobile operations. The different kinds of

Observation Vehicle Basic Car SeriesBased on a popular compact car (Opel Zafira, VWTiguan, Toyota VERSO,... depending on thecountry of use), this vehicle can e.g. be usedmobile as a manned version or also parked as aremote version. The requested technicalequipment ranges from stationary cameras andmicrophones to monitor the direct surroundingsto HF equipment for eavesdropping and GSMmonitoring. Such a parked vehicle can e.g. beused as a repeater (amplifier) for surveillanceequipment used in the near vicinity. Whethermanned field reconnaissance with night visiontechnology, audio/video surveillance or alsoradio-based monitoring, our modular systemleaves nothing to be desired. An equipment

variant with lockpicking tools etc. fornon-destructive opening of various closures aswell as the required tools to gain access to theareas under surveillance is also available.

As the most different requirements ask for a widevariety of equipment, these vehicles are tailoredto the customer´s specifications.

Our motor scooter/bike is equipped with aconventional helmet case that's got the lot. Madeof IR transparent material, it is e.g. possible thata 360 degree surveillance camera operatesabsolutely undetected. This system can also beused as a special relay station for externalsurveillance electronics or direct monitoring

(audio/video/RF). The unit is mobile and quicklyparked/stopped in the vicinity of the observationobject. Here, too, the customer´s requirementsare the basis for the equipment variant.The different units MOBILE/CAR/EXTENDED canbe composed to form a complete concept or alsobe designed as stand-alone solutions.

Here, larger carrier vehicles are used. Thesevan-size vehicles (Mercedes Sprinter, Ducato,Izuzu, Toyota, etc.), as well as our Basic Series,can be offered with a wide variety of equipment.Thanks to their generous spacing, these vehiclesare ideally suited for long-time observations.Versions with on-board sanitary facilities allownon stop observation periods of up 72 h.Air-conditioned with up to 3 workplaces, evencomplete mobile command centres can becreated according to the desired equipment. Theelectromagnetically shielded cabins are of courseprovided with the respective ventilation systems.As a result of the generous spacing, directionfinder systems, panorama surveillance,passive/active GSM monitoring, surveillanceserver applications, both manned and as remoteversions, are available.
