TEAM OWNER RULES
The GNLU Cricket league (GCL) is a professional University league starting this year
based on franchise based cricket with the intent to put together a really strong cricketing
environment to ensure a thrilling tournament for the cricket lovers. Bringing a new team will
inject new ideas and hopefully add lots of excitement to the upcoming season. The following
rules have to be adhered to while applying for a team:
• There will be only 4 teams up for grab.
• The team can be owned by paying the base price of Rs. 2500 (real money) and if there
are more than 4 interested parties then bidding for the team will happen and the top 4
bidders will get the chance to own a team. The team owners are required to deposit
the bid amount within 24 hours of the selection of the team owners. ( i.e. they have to
deposit Rs. 2500 in case there are not more than 4 team owners. If more than 4 team
owners have applied then in that case the team owner is required to pay the amount
which he/she has successfully bidded.)
• There cannot be more than 6 members co-owning a team.
• Owner cannot be the player.
• The team owner can choose their captain from the pool of players who have expressed
their interest to become captain and if more than 1 team wants the same captain, then
the captain would have the option to choose the team owner from those who are
interested. Base price of the player who is elected as a captain would automatically
become Rs. 2 Crore which will be deducted from the maximum purse limit (Rs 60
Crore- virtual money) of the team.
• The total amount (real money) which will be collected from the bidding process will
be allocated as prize money further given to winner and runners up in the ratio of
65:35.
