INTEGRATION OF
BEST PRACTICES OF
THE THREE CITIES

The GFDRR City-to-City Sharing
Initiative for DRR is one of the tools
that would make our cities resilient
to disasters. I believe that the
sharing of best practices among
cities vulnerable to hazards could
facilitate the transfer of knowledge
that could arm us against the
constant threat of disasters. (Hon.
Mayor Jejomar Erwin S. Binay, Jr.)
There are interactions
between the three cities, in
terms of disaster risk
management arrangements.
Basically, this is a learning
experience between the
cities. (Former Mayor Kedar
Bahadur Adhikari)
Quito is at the moment of
bringing policies down to
actions for which C2C is
already contributing through the
experience as well as the tools
learned. (Fernando Puente)
CITYNET’s
C2C Award Cooperation
Category Awarded to Makati City
during the 25th Anniversary Celebration of CITYNET in 10 July 2012 at Surabaya,
Indonesia
This City-to-City initiative helps the three cities realize their
potentials to become DRR champions with their numerous
initiatives that were shared throughout the project
implementation.
Makati, Quito and Kathmandu accepted greater responsibility
in sharing with other cities what they have learned and gained
from this experience.
