However, because all California public universities are “impacted,” meaning that they have more students to serve with fewer resources, it is often impossible for students to get the courses they need to graduate on time or to graduate at all.

Palo Alto University Tuition: Stacking up to the Competition: n 2014/2015 tuition and fees for Palo Alto University are $20,450. n 2014/2015 tuition and fees for University of California Santa Cruz

(UCSC) are $13,416 (Room and Board $14,409); and for San Jose State University (SJSU) tuition and fees are $7,324 (Room and Board $11,810).

At first glance, the cost of attending PAU looks slightly more expensive than attending SJSU or UCSC. However, it is important to keep in mind: n 82% of PAU students receive grant or scholarship aid, significantly

reducing the cost of attendance. n 49% of PAU students receive an average of $5,313 through Pell grants. n 57% of PAU students receive an average of $9,489 through federal

student loans.*

Tuition Stabilization at PAU:

The University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) systems have increased their tuition and fees by 300% between 1992 and 2012, with regular annual increases. At Palo Alto University, a Tuition Stabilization Plan guarantees that students will pay the same tuition and fees each year they are enrolled at PAU. That means no unexpected tuition hikes.

Graduating on Time:

Maybe most importantly, 80% of PAU students complete their Bachelor degree in less than 2 years. In comparison, because of the difficulty of obtaining classes at the State University campuses, most students who transfer to a university like SJSU or UCSC take three to four years in order to graduate, and only 60% of students who transfer to SJSU or UCSC actually graduate.

Students attending a California public university likely have one to two years of additional tuition and fees to obtain their degrees, approximately $14,648 more to attend SJSU and approximately $26,832 more to attend UCSC. This does not include the additional funds for room, board, living expenses and annual tuition and fee increases.

Students who transfer to PAU graduate in 2 years and then earn an average of $45,000 to $50,000 in their first year after graduation.
