PRODUCTION TEAM JASON SCHLAFSTEIN (Director) is thrilled to be Directing his first show at ATMTC, after previously Assistant Directing If You Give A Mouse A Cookie, If You Give A Cat a Cupcake, If You Give A Pig a Pancake, and ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas. He is the Co-Founder and Producing Artistic Director of Flying V, the recipients of the 2015 John Aniello Award for Outstanding Emerging Theatre Company. With Flying V he has directed Flying V Fights: The Secret History of the Unknown World, Be Awesome: A Theatrical Mixtape of the 90s, You or Whatever I Can Get (Helen Hayes Nomination for Best Director and Best Script), Flying V Fights: Heroes and Monsters, The Best of Craigslist, The Pirate Laureate of Port Town, and many more. Other recent directing credits include The Merry Death of Robin Hood with LiveArt DC and Kodachrome with the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts. He was the recipient of the 2016 Emerging Executives Award from the Montgomery County Executive, is a member of the Board of Governors of Theatre Washington, and is Creative Director and Color Commentator for F.I.G.H.T. Pro Wrestling. Next he will direct It’s The Rest Of The World That Looks So Small: A Theatrical Revue of Jonathan Coulton with Flying V. Thank you to Michael for the opportunity.

JONATHAN EZRA RUBIN (Fight Director) is happy to be working on his first Adventure Theatre MTC show after many years as one of the light saber instructors for their classes and birthday parties. A Helen Hayes Award Nominee for Outstanding Choreography, he has also choreographed fights for The Studio Theatre, Flying V (where he is Managing Director & Resident Fight Director,) GALA Hispanic Theatre, Maryland Shakespeare Company, Quotidian Theatre Company, Cohesion Theatre Company, LiveArt DC, Lumina Studio Theatre, Georgetown Gilbert & Sullivan Society, Marshall High School, Single Carrot Theatre, and Goucher College, among others. Jonathan’s fights have been praised in the press, including The Washington Post, The Baltimore Sun, DC Theatre Scene, and more. His fights will be seen later this season in Cohesion Theatre Company’s production of The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity. Jonathan is recognized as an Advanced Actor/Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors, and freelances as a fight director.

MICHAEL J. BOBBITT (Choreographer) is the Artistic Director of Adventure Theatre and has directed, choreographed and performed at many theatres in the DC region, including Arena Stage, Ford’s Theatre Society, Next Stop Theatre, The Shakespeare Theatre Company, Signature Theatre, Olney Theatre Center, Metro Stage, Rorshach Theatre Company, Studio Theatre, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, Center Stage, Roundhouse Theatre, The Music Center at Strathmore, The Kennedy Center, The Helen Hayes Awards and the Washington National Opera. He has been nominated for numerous Helen Hayes Awards. His national and international credits include the NY Musical Theatre Festival, Mel Tillis 2001, La Jolla Playhouse, Jefferson Performing Arts Center, and 1996 Olympics. He studied creative writing and music at Susquehanna University and theater and dance at The Washington Ballet, The Dance Theatre of Harlem, The American Musical and Dramatic

Academy and NY University’s Tisch School of the Arts (Cap 21). Michael has taught theater and dance at George Washington University, Catholic University, Montgomery College, Howard University, and the Washington Ballet.

WAYNE CHADWICK (Music Director) has worked with ATMTC actors for 20 years, in professional and student productions and as a Teaching Artist in the Pre-Professional program. He is a retired Mongomery County music teacher.

SYDNEY MOORE (Costume Designer) holds her MFA in Production Design from the George Washington University, her BA in Technical Theatre & Design from Winthrop University, and is a proud Flying V Company member. She currently juggles her time between American University, where she assists in managing the costume shop and designing costumes for the Theatre and Dance Department, John Fluevog Shoes, and freelance costume design. Recent credits include Caesar (Georgetown University), Little Women (American University), Neverwhere (Rorshach Theatre, associate design), Big Fish (Keegan Theatre, assistant design), Flying V Fights: The Secret History of the Unknown World, Parade (Keegan Theatre), You’re A Good Man, Brown & Rock of Ages (Carroll County Community College).

JOS. B. MUSUMECI, JR. (Scenic Designer) Previous work with ATMTC includes the set designs for Three Little Birds, in all its incarnations, including the New Victory Theatre run Off-Broadway, Lily’s Purple Plastic Purse, Flat Stanley, Strega Nona, and Rankin Bass’ Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Other recent work includes the scenery and lighting design for the IMAGINE! gala and many other events at the Bender JCC of Greater Washington, where he was, until recently, the Director of Theatre and Events; the live sound design and engineering for Take The Stage’s Elevate! and set design for Flying V’s The Secret History of the Unknown World, Floyd Collins with First Stage, and Othello, with WSC/Avant Bard.He is a company member of Flying V, where he also designed the scenery for Matt & Ben, You or Whatever I Can Get, the Pirate Laureate series, Lobster Alice, and Science Fiction Double Feature, (as well as the lighting for All Apologies and the Fringe production of Me and the Devil Blues). Mr. Musumeci is now the Technical Director and Resident Lighting Designer for St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Love to Bonnie.

BRIAN S. ALLARD (Lighting Designer) is excited to be returning to Adventure Theatre. Previous productions include Knuffle Bunny, Jungle Book (Helen Hayes nomination), Three Little Birds, and Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse. His lighting designs have been seen on stage throughout Washington DC, Virginia, Maryland, and New York, as well as internationally. He has designed at the Kennedy Center, the Lincoln Theatre, the New Victory Theatre (Three Little Birds), the Smithsonian Institution, the Ailey Citigroup Theater, and the CityDance Center at Strathmore. Brian has twice been nominated for Helen Hayes Awards for Excellence in Lighting Design, and has been a finalist two times for the Metro DC Dance Awards.

Jones is Not a Crook, Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp, Ella Enchanted, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Knuffle Bunny, Jumanji, The Emperor’s Nightingale, James and the Giant Peach, A Lump of Coal for Christmas, Caps for Sale, OLIVER! The Musical, Garfield The Musical with Cattitude, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Petite Rouge , Tiny Tim’s Christmas Carol, Stuart Little, Pinkalicious, Miss Nelson is Missing, The Twelve Days of Christmas, Goodnight Moon, Dr. Seuss’ Cat in the Hat, Big Nate, Three Little Birds, Winnie the Pooh, A Little House Christmas, Big, The Musical-TYA, If You Give a Moose a Muffin, The Snowy Day, and many, many, many more. She spends her days working at Adventure Theatre MTC fulltime as the Assistant Production Manager and specializes in event stage management in her free time. Her recent credits include It’s the Rest of the World That Looks So Small workshop (Flying V), Witch (Convergence Theatre), National Heritage Fellows Concert 2016 and 2017 (NEA), Ella Enchanted, The Emperor’s Nightingale, Caps for Sale, Garfield: The Musical with Cattitude, Petite Rouge, Tiny Tim’s Christmas Carol, Stuart Little (ATMTC), The Salute to the U.S. Presidential Scholars 2014 and 2016 (YoungArts Foundation), and Gidion’s Knot (Forum Theatre). She has also worked at Merry-Go Round Playhouse on Austen’s Pride: A New Musical of Pride and Prejudice and Off-Broadway as part of the Caps for Sale national tour.
