In addition, during the utility work water shut-offs may be required; these shut downs are done under the oversight of DEP and property owners will be given advance notice. All work has been approved by appropriate City and State agencies where required. Construction at the Arena Site Progresses as Scheduled Deliveries & Site Access Hunt has demobilized the access ramp at Dean Street and Flatbush Avenu e. This gate will no longer accept primary deliveries. The main gate and delivery ramp is now and will remain for the future at Pacific Street and 6 th Avenue. The access route to the Pacific g ate remains posted at the site and is the same as it has been throughout the project. Steel deliveries and steel erection will continue throughout this reporting period. Preparation for the erection / installation of a material hoist near the intersection of Ft. Greene & Atlantic Avenu e is complete. The hoist is op erable. A new access gate has been added to the Atlantic Avenue corridor midway between the Ft. Greene and 6 th Avenue gates, to be accessed via westbound traffic lane on Atlantic Avenue. Preparation for the erection/installation of a material hoist at the intersection of 6 th Avenue and Pacific Street has been revised and is now projected to commence sometime in September. Rodent Control Measures Taken Hunt and FCRC have reviewed and are considering actions to supplement the site and adjacent neighborh ood’s rodent protection activities. Hunt has more than 225 rodent bait stations within the arena work site and Block 1129 that are being monitored and maintained. Environmental Remediation The remaining aboveground storage tanks (ASTs) located in the basement of the one-story structure affiliated with 752 Pacific street, have been cleaned and will be removed during the future demolition work. The final groundwater injection performance monitoring sample round has been completed at Block 1127 Lo t 1. All work was completed un der jurisdiction of the DEC.

Construction at the Arena Site Progresses as Scheduled

Excavation

Large scale excavation has halted with the removal of the Dean Street ramp and will resume onlywhen the Pacific Street ramp is removed, which is projected to be March 2012. Concrete installationon the Pacific Street ramp will not be proceeding.

Excavation for the footings will continue within the footprint of the arena during this reportingperiod.

Excavation for storm/sanitation/water services near the intersections of Dean & Flatbush as well as 6 th & Pacific will commence during this reporting period or the next. These excavations (trenches) willbe in excess of 25 feet below street level and will require tie-in to existing piping within both DeanStreet and /or 6 th Avenue. Permits are being submitted to borough agencies to allow the tie-ins and amaintenance and protection of traffic/pedestrians plans(s) is being prepared; installation will notoccur until permits have been granted. A second and/or third shift is being considered to execute thiswork.

Foundation & Perimeter WallsSOE removal along Atlantic and Flatbush Avenues (whaler elements and bracing no longer required

due to backfill placement) will continue during this reporting period.

Installation of perimeter walls is complete at the southeast corner of arena site. Installation of footings and knee walls continues.

The spray fireproofing will continue throughout this reporting period. The contractor performing this

work will use temporary electric to power their equipment.

Mechanical, Electrical, & PlumbingLayout/installation related to the underground plumbing will continue within the arena footprint.Underground plumbing will continue within the arena footprint including in controlled access zonesbeneath the structural steel erection as needed this period.

Underground electrical installation will continue as needed during this reporting period. This work istaking place within the entire arena footprint where the concrete foundations and footings are beingpoured and beneath the structural steel erection within controlled access zones.

The piping for the storm/sanitary/and water services to the arena at 6 th & Pacific as well as Dean &Flatbush is expected to start during this or the next reporting period. The tie-ins for this piping willrequire work in the street. A second and/or third shift is being considered to execute this work.

Mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection rough in work will continue through thisreporting period at the Event, Main, Concourse, Lower and Upper Suite Levels.

Interior Build-outThe masonry contractor will continue working at the Event Level and at the Main Concourse Levelduring this reporting period. Masonry contractor will commence working at every level of arenaduring this reporting period.

Rodent Control Plan

Civetta has had a rodent control plan in place since September 2010 which includes above and belowground baiting.

Work outside the FencePermits have been secured for the portions of the street immediately adjacent to the “Tip” of theproject area. Concrete plank/decking in the roadway (at the corner of Flatbush and Atlantic) is nowcomplete. This work is being done to allow the Fare Control Area excavation, demolition and roof steel installation to continue below the street. Traffic will be restored every morning according toDOT stipulations. Barricades have now been installed at the southern end of the IRT platforms asapproved by NYCT.

Work at the southern vent shafts along Flatbush Avenue will continue during this reporting periodand mobilization into the northern vent work area will also take place during this work period.

ConcreteThe concrete at the center section over the BMT Tunnel has been completed. Concrete placement iscurrently underway at the new walls to support the future new staircase -- the north, east and south

walls have been completed. Form work has commenced for the construction of the new roof over thenew station entrance.

Steel ErectionSteel installation at the lower levels of the BMT mezzanine continues. Steel erection has commencedin this area as well as over the new entrance to the BMT connection. Foundation walls will be poured

What’s Happening in the Rail Yard

DeliveriesPosillico/Tully will continue to receive deliveries of material for lagging, tie back and mini pile pipefor the car shop during this reporting period.

Environmental RemediationThe majority of the asbestos abatement at the old car shop boiler and its associated piping(specifically at the east end of Block 1121 and at the far east end of the car shop) has been completedfor the interior of the Car Shop. The remainder of the asbestos abatement (exterior portion of piping)may commence during this period pending approval of NYSDOL variance.

Rodent Control Measures TakenMcKissack has implemented an ongoing rodent control plan that will be monitored weekly. There areover 166 bait stations laid in this area and on Block 1129.

Excavation & Soil CharacterizationGeneral Excavation and soil removal work will continue during the reporting period and for several

more months.

Drilling – Support of Excavation, & Tiebacks,Drilling of tiebacks will continue in various areas of the yard (BL1120 and BL1121). These tiebacksare drilled by small rigs, and are required at several elevations as excavation and lagging continue tothe final depth of the yard sub-grade. Replacement of Adjacent Water Mains and other Utility Work

On behalf of the DEP, FCRC is managing the installation of new water trunk main and associateddistribution mains on Flatbush and Atlantic Avenues. The work is divided into three stages.

o Stage One is the work on the west side of Flatbush, north of the Atlantic intersection,continuing across Flatbush to the edge of the transit improvements on the arena block.This is called Stage One because the design of this section was critical to the remainingtwo stages. The actual installation will follow Stage Two.

o Stage Two is the work along the south side of Atlantic Ave from a location just west of the former 5 th Avenue bed, running eastward to a location west of the 6 th Avenueintersection.

o Stage Three is the area between Stages One and Two, across Flatbush Avenue and the topof the future new transit station improvements.

The installation of the new trunk water main in Stage Two on the south side of Atlantic Avenue eastof the Fort Green intersection is complete, cleaned, pressurized and inspected. Over the next twoweeks the DEP will be chlorinating the pipe and sampling the water. All work will be performed

behind MPT.

Stage one will be begin in early August. The first work will include the installation of distributionwater main along the sidewalk of Flatbush, north of Atlantic. The work will be done at night (10 pmto 6 am) and will require partial closure of the sidewalk and the curb lane of traffic during the work hours. The work will take two to three months in this location and then will move on southward and

department trailers. These trailers are located on the east end of this block at Vanderbilt Avenue andPacific Street.

The placement of additional geo-textile fabric and stone on Block 1129 to assist with dust control andmaintenance of streets will continue as needed during this reporting period. Precast concrete risers,tubs and vomitory wall deliveries to the lay down area east of 752 Pacific Street will continue thisperiod. Façade panel delivery and staging is being added to the materials temporarily stored in Block 1129 this reporting period.

Occupancy/Use of the laydown area due south of the 752 Pacific Street office will continue duringthis period. Excavation materials from the Dean Street ramp are being temporarily stored in this lotand are expected to remain for two to six months. The material has been covered with a stabilizerthat keeps the dust from migrating similarly as a plastic tarp. Access is via Pacific Street via approvedtruck routes.

DemolitionDemolition commenced on the buildings at 768 Pacific and 603 Dean and the one-story addition onthe east side of 752 Pacific. Over the next two week period the demolition of 603 Dean is expected tobe completed and will be in progress for 754 and 768 Pacific. The sidewalk closure in front of 603Dean has been pulled back and a 5’ section of the sidewalk is now passable. During the course of the excavation work, the contractor may encounter unforeseen contaminants,underground storage tanks or other structures. In the event that this happens and where appropriate,

notification will be given to DEC, VOC monitoring will be continuously performed while excavatingthese materials and remediation steps will be implemented.

Former fuel oil above ground storage tanks (ASTs) located at 752 Pacific may be removed during thisreporting period pending demolition of the one story building. These ASTs are empty and have beencleaned in accordance with FDNY and DEC regulations. The ASTs will be removed and disposed inaccordance with applicable FDNY and DEC regulations under direction and oversight of a licensed tank removal contractor.

Maintenance & Protection of Traffic (MPTs) For Your SafetyAn MPT continues to be in place along the southern side of Atlantic Avenue between Flatbush & 6 th Avenue, and along the eastern side of Flatbush from Atlantic to Dean Street.

MPT is in place on the southern side of Atlantic between Carlton & Vanderbilt Avenues. Posillico/ Tully have started preparatory work for the drilling of the car shop piles in the rail yard. Openings arebeing core-drilled in the sidewalk and once complete the drill rig will be mobilized to this location.

Once started, this work will take approximately 2 months. All DOT permits are in place.

New MPT has been put in place for the Carlton Avenue Bridge south abutment soil excavation fromPacific Street. The exact location is in the intersection of Carlton Avenue & Pacific Street. This is nothaving an impact on the traffic flow at this intersection.

Fourth Avenue (between Atlantic & Flatbush Avenues only) has been converted to one-way

southbound to improve traffic flow at the Flatbush Avenue/Atlantic Avenue/Fourth Avenueintersection.

Fourth Avenue northbound traffic, including all commercial vehicles, can use Third Avenue viaAtlantic Avenue to access Flatbush Avenue. Pacific Street wi ll offer secondary access to FlatbushAvenue. No through truck traffic will be permitted on Pacific Street.

During the weekend of July 23 rd, the reversal of Pacific Street (between Fourth & Flatbush Avenuesonly) changing from one-way westbound to one-way eastbound, was completed. This work includedthe installation of a new traffic signal at the intersection of Pacific Street & Flatbush Avenue, as wellas a new crosswalk across Flatbush Avenue. Vehicles are now to make right or left turns ontoFlatbush Avenue at this location. This block can be accessed from both northbound and southboundFourth Avenue.

Work being performed as part of the Traffic Mitigation Site work is being conducted at night pursuant toDOT permits. Over the next 3-4 weeks work will be taking place at the following intersections during the

overnight period: Pacific/Flatbush, 4th

Avenue/Pacific. Work will be concluded by 6 AM so that relatedMPT is removed for the morning rush hour.

NYC Transit Improvements:o

Temporary concrete road decking is substantially complete, however, in the event there is aneed to do any related work, such work will be performed at night per DOT regulations.Traffic will be restored every morning according to DOT stipulations.

o Work related to demolition of BMT structure and below grade concrete, steel and MEP work may be conducted on Saturdays, August 6 th and August 13 th, during this reporting period. Allsuch work will take place within the site.

Demolition:o None anticipated at this time.

Block 1129 – staging arena:o Contractors conducting night work may have cause to enter and exit this area as it serves as a

staging and material/equipment storage area.

Off Site Mitigation work:o Work taking place at Pacific/Flatbush and4th/Pacific will be done during the overnight

pursuant to DOT permits. Work will be concluded by 6 AM so that related MPT is removedfor the morning rush hour

During the course of work, conditions may be encountered at the site which may warrant the need fornight and/or weekend work. Work will be done pursuant to approved permits.
