A banner year A LETTER FROM THE ATHLETIC DIRECTOR
Dear Friends of Phoenixville Athletics,
Thank you for your support of Phoenixville Athletics during the 2017-2018 academic year.
Whether you are a student-athlete, alumnus, parent, staff member or a fan, you are an integral
part of the success of our team. It is my hope that you will enjoy the PASD Athletics Year in
Review and relive with pride the highlights, accomplishments, and experiences provided by our
1,444 student-athletes who compose our 81 High School and Middle School teams.
The 2017-2018 school year saw Phoenixville crown our first Pioneer Athletic Conference
Champions since 2012, as Boys Soccer and Boys Tennis each brought home PAC
Championships. Baseball, Boys Cross Country, and Boys Soccer all won PAC Frontier Division
championships. Individual awards for athletics and academic achievements by student-athletes
piled up, as did national recognition for academic excellence for our Baseball, Girls Soccer, and
Swimming & Diving teams. Student participation continues to exceed PAC schools of
comparable size at both the high school and middle school levels.
We wish the best of luck to all of our graduating seniors, as they enter the next chapter of their
lives. Twenty-five student-athletes will continue to participate in athletics at the intercollegiate
level, exceeding the mark set by the Class of 2017. This year’s valedictorian, Kevin Cushing
(Baseball/Cornell University), and salutatorian, Caroline Turner (Diving/United States Naval
Academy) will both continue to play their sport in college.
We are committed to the growth and development of our student-athletes in the classroom, in
the community and on the field of play. We will continue to work hard each day as one,
dedicated to providing a positive and memorable experience for student-athletes.
We look forward to another great year in 2018-2019 and invite you to stay connected to PASD
by attending athletic events and continuing to support our fine young people.
Thank you again for your continued support of the defenders of the Purple and the White!
