annual event from Arvada’s award winning Apex Cen-

ter… whew, finally, huh? Thank you SO very much for

your patience and support!

If you’ve raced with us before you’ll notice many things

are different, of course, and please understand that

permitting restrictions make flexibility impossible in

compromise was the mission: an organized, worry-free

race environment where athletes of all abilities are able

to enjoy the camaraderie unique to endurance sports,

encouraged to challenge their limits, and motivated to

be extraordinary.

So go, be extraordinary... we’ll be there to support you

every step of the way. D Wiedeman, Event Director

On behalf of the entire All-Out Staff

IN ADVANCE

Covid Precautions- Early Packet Pick-Up will not be taking place so we can be sure all athletes are screened for symptoms immediately

prior to entering the venue. If you are sick or have had contact with someone who is sick, please stay home. If you are experiencing fever, cough or shortness of breath, please isolate yourself from others and contact the

Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment immediately. Should this be the case, please click here to take a peek at your options to cancel and let us know what you decide. Due to capacity limits, no spectators will be allowed to enter the venue.

General Information- Walk-up registration will not be offered. (Very sorry, but this is one of those areas where we have zero flexibility.) All entry changes must be executed online before registration closes. Distance changes, name or gender correc-

tions, etc… everyone has until 11:59p Thursday, September 17th to be sure their entry is 100% correct. (Ditto… we simply do not have the ability to make exceptions on race morning.) If someone else was kind enough to get you registered, please know they were not allowed to agree to the waiver

on your behalf and that you must log in to your entry to do so by that same deadline… 11:59p Thu., 9/17. SPECIAL ATTENTION: If you arrive on race morning without having agreed to the waiver, you will not be allowed to race. Four-legged furry running partners ARE still allowed, just please be sure to keep leashes short at all times. Last minute event updates will be posted on our website and on Facebook but will only be emailed to registered

athletes if time / circumstances allow. Please bookmark our website and/or like us on Facebook to stay in the know. Although we plan to race rain, snow, wind or shine, the Event Director, City and/or Facility Management reserve the

right to reschedule, modify or cancel any or all portions of this event if weather conditions or anything else compro-mises athlete safety or makes the originally planned event unachievable. There will be no refunds and no credits toward another race for rescheduled, modified or cancelled events when the circumstance that made it necessary was out of our control.

UPON ARRIVAL

Covid Precautions- Due to contact tracing protocols, athletes will only be allowed to enter during their specific check-in window. (i.e.

Athletes from the same household racing different distances may not enter together… the athlete starting later should sit tight in the car until their check-in time.) Everyone who joins us on race day will be screened for symptoms before they will be allowed to enter the venue. It

is extremely important that you make note of exactly where the entry point is, and respect this requirement put in place by the health department… our ability to continue bringing you races depends on it. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 or higher will not be allowed to enter the venue and will need to email us once

they get home to make arrangements for SWAG delivery, as no other form of compensation will be available. Our mask requirement will honor current Jefferson County Public Health Order 20-008 which states, “everyone ages

11 and older must wear a mask or cloth face covering when unable to maintain 6’ social distancing”. SPECIAL ATTENTION: If you arrive on race morning without a mask around your neck, ready to put in place at any moment,

you will not be allowed to enter the venue. (Very sorry, but in a pocket or bag isn’t good enough.) If you cough or sneeze, please do so into your elbow… not into your hand, please clean your hands at every oppor-

tunity, and if at all possible… please refrain from touching your face.

General Information- Parking will be available right there in the Apex complex, just please be sure to leave the furthest NW lot accessible

for patrons of the ice arena. Should an unexpected weather event or anything else cause the need for emergency evacuation on race day, any-

one who becomes separated from their group should plan to meet at the Susan M. Duncan Family YMCA located at 6350 Eldridge St in Arvada. Click here for directions.

ON YOUR WAY TO THE START

Covid Precautions- Once you have checked in you will notice an All-Out green line on the ground with footprints placed at 9’ intervals.

Other than when you step out to take advantage of various features & services we are offering, please be sure to stay on the line at all times, pausing at each set of footprints until the folks in front of you move forward.

Page 3: Athlete Event Guide · 9/20/2020  · Four-legged furry running partners ARE still allowed, just please be sure to keep leashes short at all times. Last minute event updates will

Covid Precautions- Although face coverings must remain around your neck… not in a pocket, athletes are NOT required to cover their

nose & mouth while they are racing unless they are unable to stay at least 6’ away from another athlete. (Psst… not including any adjacent soft surface, the majority of trails we will be utilizing are 8’ wide.)

SPECIAL ATTENTION: Should you decide to stop for support from an aid station, please be sure to slip your mask into place. Anyone who fails to do so will reported to event management and disqualified.

General Information-

We’ve eliminated virtually all touch points. Other than if / when you use the porta-poos, the only things you should have to touch will be 1– handed to you by a member of our team, and 2– kept on your person for the duration.

General Information- Bibs must be attached so they are visible from the front at all times… not from the back and not wrapped around

the side of your leg. Timing chips must be removed from your bib and properly attached to your shoe, even if you’re not interested in receiving a finish time. (A round loop or circle is good… folded flat or like a teardrop is bad and could very possibly prevent us from providing you with any time whatsoever.)

SPECIAL ATTENTION: Only bibs and timing chips will be available for pick-up before you race… all other SWAG, merchandise and prizes will be made available after you finish. Please feel free to step out of the main line to approach the gear check tent with any personal supplies or equip-

ment you prefer not to carry during your race. Please be sure to consolidate into one piece only and know that you are checking at your own risk. Although we will do our best to keep your items safe, we will not be hiring profes-sional security and will not be held responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items. Marathon athletes are welcome to bring personal supply bags that will be made available to them near the comple-

tion of each loop, at Aid 7. Please feel free to pack anything from your tried-and-true nutrition to anti-chafing prod-ucts, extra clothing or a change of shoes, then rest assured... we'll have it waiting for you when you get there!

SPECIAL ATTENTION: Please be absolutely certain you communicate to gear check personnel that this gear is for mid-race access, as failing to do so will prevent us from transporting to the proper area. Should you need some extra hydration before you start or a fill-up for a bottle you plan to carry while you race, wa-

ter will be available from the gear check area. Masks are required at all times within the warm-up area, as free movement is both allowed and expected.

DURING YOUR RACE

Ground markings, directional signs, marshals and volunteers will be positioned to guide you through the course, but it is always a good idea to study up in advance. Interactive maps are available online, but we will not be printing & distributing copies to each athlete. iPods or other portable music devices that require the use of a headset are discouraged but will not disqualify ath-

letes from competition. For safety purposes and so you can hear event announcements or course directions, please be sure to keep the volume at a reasonable level. Beginning about 150' before and ending 150′ after your first aid station, athletes may drop layers of clothing or

equipment they no longer wish to have with them. Our amazing staff and team of volunteers will transport these items to Lost & Found as quickly as possible. Please be sure your name is on anything you drop for easier identifica-tion when you finish. Please remember that we are guests of the parks & trails that welcome us and that litter could jeopardize the life of

this event. Please DO NOT LITTER! Instead, please utilize the drop zone described above or dispose of all trash in proper receptacles. (Psst… we will scour for trash within a reasonable distance of all aid stations, so there’s no need to carry cups & such as you complete your race.)

Page 4: Athlete Event Guide · 9/20/2020  · Four-legged furry running partners ARE still allowed, just please be sure to keep leashes short at all times. Last minute event updates will

We reserve the right to disqualify and/or remove from the venue any athlete who ignores or otherwise breaks these rules. Athletes who are disqualified and/or removed will not be entitled to any return compensation whatsoever.

Covid Precautions- To avoid any area of congregation, results will only be available online, later in the day. Individual results will be

texted to all who have opted in, and searchable/sortable standings will be posted as quickly as possible thereafter. (Psst… the link to results is already available on our website.) For the same reason, there will be no award ceremonies. All awards will be mailed to winners once results are final.

General Information- Once you cross the finish line, that same green line is the way to the exit point, with the ‘stay on the line / stop at

the footprints’ and ‘masks required in the cool-down area’ rules still in effect. Meal options will be a bit simpler, under the circumstances, and will consist of breakfast burritos (bacon or vegetari-

an), bananas and oranges. Please decide in advance which of the 3 options you prefer so we are able to assemble your meal, hand it over quickly, and keep the line moving. Gear pick-up / lost & found will be located right next door to the meal tent. Please be sure to pick-up anything you

left with us or ask for anything you may be missing at that time. All SWAG, including finisher medals, shirts, brag tags, Run Amok mugs, visors (for those who took advantage of the

promotion), and merchandise (for those who purchased something in advance) will be available as your last stop on your way out… right there at the same tents where you checked in.

Under NO CIRCUMSTANCE should athletes ‘relieve themselves’ in public areas. Please either use the facilities avail-able at the venue or make your way to units positioned at aids 2 and 6. All staff vehicles and aid stations will be equipped with first aid kits, and EMTs will be positioned at both the start/

finish and out on course for anyone who may need assistance. Because area trails have seen a surge of activity lately, please be aware that the more athletes there are on race

day, the more important trail etiquette principles become. Not only should you consider your fellow racers, but John Q. Public will be out there as well. Very basically... stay right at all times so others can pass on your left. As much as we would like to support each and every athlete through to the finish no matter what... parks, trails and

volunteers all need to know when they can expect to be done for the day, then although we normally provide some pretty unique options for those who are unable to stay ahead of a 14:53 pace, the unfortunate circumstances we face these days prevent us from doing so. Therefore, very simply… all courses and the finish line will close promptly at 1:30p. Anyone still on course at that time will be offered a ride back to the venue in one of our official course ve-hicles and will be scored as a DNF.

SPECIAL ATTENTION: This is another of those areas where we have zero flexibility. Please take the 1:30p cut-off very seri-ously, as no exceptions will be made.

AFTER YOU FINISH

Covid Precautions- God forbid anyone develops symptoms shortly after participating in this event, please be sure to contact the CDPHE

immediately, and share both the date of the event and our email address with them: [email protected]

General Information- Unfortunately, with the last minute move to Arvada we were unable to have this course certified, so finish times will

not be submitted to the Boston Athletic Association. We want you to LOVE your race shirt! Although on race day you will only have access to the size you originally re-

quested, should you wish to see if a swap is possible, please be sure to email us by 11:59p, Tue., 9/22. As always, photos will be free for unlimited download and available within just a few days after the event. (Psst…

the link to photos is already available on our website too!) Although we refuse to refer to any of this as a ‘new normal’, we’re painfully aware many of these restrictions will be

the case for some time. If you were either amazed at how safe you felt every step of the way or found yourself wishing we’d gone just a step or two farther to keep everyone safe, please be sure to email us right away so we can consider adjustments to future events.
