“Yoga allows you to find an inner peace that is not ruffled and riled by the endless stresses and struggles of life.” BKS Iyengar Yoga for Emotional Stability Saturday, June 23 2-5pm www.iyisf.org - for registration Emotional stability comes when skills to face the inevitable ups and downs of life are developed. When these resources of resilience are lacking it can feel like being buffeted on a stormy sea between extreme emotions of anxiety, elation to depression and avoidance. Yoga postures (asanas) provide the means to strengthen, body mind and spirit. In this workshop participants will learn how practice (sadhana) can be a foundation for cultivating a balanced state of mind. Students will come away with practical antidotes to help cope with difficult mind states as well as strategies for cultivating lasting contentment. This workshop is open to all-levels of Iyengar Yoga practitioners. Pranayama Course – 7 sessions Mondays 7:45 - 8:45 www.iyisf.org - for registration July 9, 16, 22, 30 August 6, 13, 20 Pranayama, the communion of life energy and breath, is best learned through progressive study and a consistent daily practice. In this course participants will meet weekly to learn form, technique and practices to work with to develop or hone their practice of pranayama. This course is appropriate for everyone having at least one year of yoga practice. Students are requested to arrive 10 minutes early in order to be in savasana before the class begins. Women's Health Series at IYISF Tuesdays Sept. 11, 18, 25, 6:30 - 7:45 pm www.iyisf.org - for registration Join Athena for three sessions focusing on women's physical and emotional wellness. Participants will explore poses and sequences best suited to the cycles and changes of a woman's life. Women of all ages and abilities are welcome to attend.
