Canada wide with 182 cadets achieving their Private Pilot License

• 2011 proposed numbers of Cadets for the PPS increased from 243 to 255 basic Powered Pilot Scholarships.

• ATAC Airside Safety now available as an Power Point downloadable briefing to all squadrons across Canada

• ATAC awards two continuation flying bursaries to top cadets of the year regionally and nationally

• New Advanced Flying award proposed by ACLC to pool all Air Cadet bursaries and flying awards so top cadets can increase their pilot skills beyond the PPL.

• Health Canada, is working with airlines and ATAC on public health conditions related to air travel

• After successfully working with ATAC on potable water issues, focus has expanded to assess food safety and general sanitation onboard aircraft and third party catering

•  6 month project June to November 2010  with inspection activities and data gathering of in-flight meals

• New Packing Instructions ICAO in-force January 1, 2011;

Canada at ICAO DG Panel working groups in Abu Dhabi (Nov 8 - 12) – Agenda - Helicopters and modifications to the NOTOC (Notification to the Pilot-in-Command).

• Domestically, the "big" issue will be the new requirements on DG Security. Under new “SIMS” Directorate (Surface and Multi-Modal Security) within Transport Canada
