*Physiology and Microbiology must be repeated if completed five years or more before the date of entry into the program. **The program requires MTH140 or higher. If the math requirement is not met prior to entry, you must have a placement score or

assessment measure that places you directly into MTH140 or higher, passed MTH042 with a “C” or higher, or have completed MTH095 or equivalent. Students seeking admission into the ADN program may complete the required general education coursework with a “C” or above prior to the date of entry into the program. These courses are not pre-requisites; however, it is beneficial to complete as many of the courses as possible while waiting for admission into the program.

^Please refer to the course descriptions for pre/co-requisite and placement information. You can only register for these courses if

you have met the prerequisite, placed into the course and/or enroll in the co-requisite course(s). The nursing component of the degree is composed of nine nursing courses taken in four semesters. Each course must be taken in

sequence and generally includes classroom and clinical experiences. Clinical experiences will be provided at hospitals, nursing homes, clinics and other selected facilities. The student should anticipate additional time for preparation in nursing courses as well as in the non-nursing courses.

Most Professional Nursing Courses (NUR) require additional course days to obtain clinical experience in addition to normal

coursework. A grade of “C” or better must be obtained in all required courses. Prior to clinical experience, a physical examination, urine drug screen, documentation of immunizations and a cardiopulmonary

resuscitation (CPR) course are required. Students are expected to provide their own transportation to clinical sites. Clinical sites are located throughout Central and

Northeast Missouri. Additional Graduation Requirement

Missouri law, included in Senate Bill 807, requires every college student pursuing an associate’s or bachelor's degree at a public institution to pass the Missouri Higher Education Civics Achievement Examination with at least a 70 percent to graduate. The rule will apply to the incoming class of first-time college students in the fall of 2019 and all students thereafter.

For additional admission information, please see the ADN Application located on the MACC website or call Mark Chambers, Health

Sciences Advisor at ext. 11288 or the Health Science office at ext. 11250. This academic map is not a contract, either expressed or implied, between MACC and the student, but represents a flexible program

of the current curriculum which may be altered from time to time to meet the academic objectives of the college. MACC specifically reserves the right to modify, delete, or add to any academic map at any time within the student’s period of study at the college.
