For the seventh consecutive season, the Indianapolis Colts returned
to their original preseason home at Anderson University for their 2016
training camp.
Indianapolis holds camp on the Anderson University campus from
the end of July to the beginning of August, drawing more than 38,000
fans into the city.
“I had the chance to meet Owner/CEO Jim Irsay, coach Pagano and
VP Bill Ward, all of whom praised the AU community for hosting the
Colts in such a professional way in terrific facilities," said AU President
John S. Pistole.
The Colts originally moved to Indianapolis in 1984 from Baltimore
and held their training camp at AU for 16 years.
Indianapolis has been one of the premier teams in the National
Football League over the past decade, setting the NFL record for most
wins in a 10-year span with 115 from 2000-2009.
The Colts won at least 12 games in an NFL-record eight seasons
and had an NFL-best 140 victories from 2000-11. They made the
playoffs in nine consecutive seasons as well as 13 of the last 15,
including a Super Bowl championship in 2006.
