For 40 years, a clear vocation for the recovery of ferrous and non-ferrous metals

Our company has more than 40 years of experience in the industry, recovering ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The company's goal is to consolidate its market position enjoyed both in Europe and worldwide, as suppliers of scrap of secondary aluminium, steel, copper, brass, zamak, magnesium, bronze and others.

in the 1960sThe business was first established in the 1960s by its founder, Mario Assisi, as a brass refinery in Via San Rocco, Sarezzo (BS), named As Fon Metal.

in the 1980sIn the 1980s, the company moved away from brass scrap refinement and instead towards the selection of scrap metal, mainly aluminium. Today it now rightfully claims to be an industry of consolidated experience both nationally and across the globe.in the 1970s

With a view to improving both quality and environmental aspects, in the late 1970s, the fast-growing company moved to "Grina Ovest" area, still in the municipality of Sarezzo (BS), logistically better suited to hosting the refinery. Thus Assisi Raffineria Metalli SpA was created. Years of experience and continuous technological innovation focused on improving each and every stage of the process have successfully optimised production, also allowing us to gain considerable experience in the selection and choice of scrap metals.

2010 - to dateIn addition to the consolidated, but constantly evolving production process, Assisi Raffineria Metalli SpA has strengthened its quality and working standards, in 2010 developing a new office block. The Group is currently based on a total surface area that extends for more than 20,000 m2 and uses innovative plants and equipment as well as and highly-qualified staff. In 2011, the continuous research resulted in the foundation of a new business designed to recover energy (IRLE srl).

Today the company employs a workforce of around 40.Average turnover recorded by Assisi Raffineria Metalli spa for the last three years stands at € 45 mln.

Assisi Raffineria Metalli SpA processes scrap metal (mainly aluminium) using recovery plants aimed at maximising the reduction of materials to be sent for disposal/to landfills.Assisi Raffineria Metalli SpA uses its own manual and/or mechanical selection and flotation plants. It can also rely on its associate company, Somef SpA, for drying and crushing processes.The main supply markets are Europe and occasionally the United States of America.

To date, our company has a waste processing capacity of up to 150,000 tonnes/year.Our main outlet markets are: Europe, China, Korea and Pakistan.

Assisi Raffineria Metalli SpA strives to provide its clients with products boasting high technical quality, always in line with the increasingly demanding market requests.

This constant commitment has allowed us to obtain:

- UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 quality certification;- Quality certification in accordance with Council Regulation (EU) No. 333/2011- AQSIQ licence no. A380120343;- UNI EN ISO 14001:2004 environmental certification.

In order to achieve this objective, Assisi Raffineria Metalli SpA undertakes to:

- seek out and identify the customer's needs, however complex;- increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the business processes;- plan careful management of the production process to prevent any onset of problems.

Assisi Raffineria Metalli SpA management also wishes this goal to be shared by all staff; it is therefore committed to involving its employees, making them responsible for achieving the objectives listed below, as envisaged by the quality certification:

- dedicate maximum sensitivity to ensuring that the explicit and implicit requirements of the customers of Assisi Raffineria Metalli SpA are always perfectly identified, focused on, understood, available and met;

- always pay maximum attention and assign high priority to the completion of all actions aimed at solving (whether directly or indirectly and according to one's job role) any problems that may be reported by customers in using the product/service requested/supplied;

- respect and scrupulously implement company procedures, making sure to limit deviations to only cases of force majeure and exceptional circumstances, and in any case upon authorisation by the business function managers;

- be aware that training and relevant updates, whenever necessary, must always be up to the required standards and suitable for the duties to be performed.

Safety and the environment

The success of a business can no longer be measured purely in terms of profits, rather it should be evaluated in terms of the company’s capacity to act and react to changes underway in the world in which it operates.

In actual fact, attention paid to environmental matters is one of the most important missions for Assisi Raffineria Metalli SpA, even in terms of business. More specifically, the company considers the following to be priority, crucial factors:

- adopting values connected with "Sustainable development";- identifying significant aspects of environmental impact and promoting their continuous improvement;- spreading environmental culture and making it pervasive amongst all employees, clients and suppliers;- managing environmentally-impacting materials to increase the quality of the products that have been recycled, reconditioned and re-used;- cooperating with suppliers, in order to guarantee the best possible practices for safeguarding the environment;- preventing all forms of environmental pollution in conducting its business.

Assisi Raffineria Metalli SpA is authorised by ordinary resolution of the province of Brescia no. 2162 of 16/6/2012 and subsequent amendments and supplements.
