Three Methods of Assessment Use in School
A. Performance Assessment
Its is a way to document and evaluate the work that students have accomplished during
some fixed period of time. It tends to take the form of lengthy, multidisciplinary problem
solving activities.
SCHOOL PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT PROGRAM
School Assessment, a test of reading, math, and science achievement..
School Performance Assessment Program was a test given to students to test their
mastery of the basics and how well they applied knowledge in authentic problem-solving
situations. The primary purpose was to provide information that could be used to improveinstruction in schools. It measured the performance of schools by illustrating:
1. How well students solved problems cooperatively and individually.
2. How well students applied what they learned to real world problems.
3. How well students could relate and use knowledge from different subject areas.
B. Projects
Projects are designed to draw upon a range of skills from the student, who may workindividually or in groups to accomplish the goals that have been set. Projects can be creative and
varied as the teacher who has assigned them.
Example of projects that the teacher gives:
Create a computer game that teaches math facts.
Make a map of your neighborhood
Design and build working prototype of a non-fossil-fuel vehicle.

The portfolio is the capstone for the students academic experience at New Tech High. As the
students are developing their portfolio, it becomes the driving force for the development and
measurement of the school wide learning outcomes, a set of skills critical to success in post-secondary education and the workplace. The portfolio also provides a clear means for students to
express their goals, growth, skills, and interests to the world in a professional manner.
Furthermore, evaluation of the portfolio by staff, peers, parents, and community members servesas a vehicle for strengthening partnerships with the school and evaluating the students progress
toward their life goal.
