Step 1: Rewrite the table. “Day” is the x-values and “Bacteria” the y-values. What pattern do you find in the DAY column? Correct! Bacteria increases by almost 4 times every day! Bacteria data is collected every day! What pattern do you find in the BACTERIA column? Now follow the pattern until you get to the 6 th day. To PREDICT means to ESTIMATE. I know….. 16 * 4 is NOT 62 and 62 * 4 is NOT 250. We are estimating, remember? So, you can predict that on the 6 th day, 4000 bacteria will be present. Choice C is the correct answer!
