Pinnacle was launched by Ascend to focus on Asian American corporate board directors on US company boards.

VISIONHelp corporations enhance their business objectives by increasing the number of Asian American corporate board directors.

GOALCreate a platform to network, leverage and support current Asian American corporate board directors; develop aspiring candidates for future board service; and provide thought leadership regarding corporate board issues. The goal is that each year, the number of new Asian Americans on Fortune 500 boards should reflect the Asian population in the United States (6.8 percent in 2015).

PINNACLE MEMBERSHIPPinnacle has two categories of membership: Experienced public company board directors and aspiring board directors. Pinnacle uses the “pull” from the experienced and the “push” from the aspiring to create momentum for change. PINNACLE

A Warm Welcome to the Ascend Pinnacle Asian Corporate Directors Summit!

We would like to personally welcome each of you to our inaugural Ascend Pinnacle Asian Corporate Directors Summit, the first-of-its-kind convening of our nation’s leading Asian American Corporate Directors. We are delighted you have chosen to be a part of this historic and important weekend.

As a lifecycle organization, it’s an exciting time for Ascend as we continue to grow, unify and advocate for our Pan-Asian professionals at all career levels, from students to senior executives to corporate directors. Ascend is the only non-profit Pan-Asian membership organization focused on the advancement and contributions of business professionals in North America.

We launched Ascend Pinnacle three years ago with a primary focus on Asian American directors on US public company and large private company boards. Currently, Asians occupy only 3.1% of the 5,440 Fortune 500 board director seats. Nearly 80% of the Fortune 500 corporations have no Asian Americans on their boards. These gaps represent large opportunities for companies to better leverage the great business experiences and insights Pan-Asian leaders can bring to their organizations. Ascend Pinnacle has a simple goal: increase the number of Asian Americans on public company boards.

As we convene at the first-ever Asian Corporate Directors Summit, what better opportunity than this to shape the future of Pan-Asians in corporations, strengthen our networks and promote those who are progressing and starting their journeys into the corporate boardroom. We have a dynamic speaker line-up and expect this to be a very engaging weekend.

Our Summit founding partner Deloitte deserves a big thanks. They have been a founding partner of Ascend and Ascend Pinnacle and have been a continuous investor in our mission and programs. Special thanks to our other sponsors and our alliance partners. Together, we are committed to making a positive impact in the corporate boardroom.

We would also like to thank each of you for bringing your networks, expertise and knowledge to this Summit and welcome your future contributions to Ascend Pinnacle and Ascend. You are trailblazers, leaders, and role models. We ask you to stay engaged, be proactive and help us shape the future of our organization and mission. Thank you for joining us!

Without a Heart, it’s just a machine. So in 1971, a little Heart built a different kind of airline—one that made sure everyone could fly. Everyone has important places to go. So we invented low-fares to help them get there. To us, you’re not 1A or 17B. You’re a person with a name, like Steve. Here, we think everyone deserves to feel special, no matter where you sit or how much you fly. And with all the places we’re going next, we’ll always put you first, because our love of People is still our most powerful fuel. Some say we do things differently. We say, why would we do things any other way? Without a Heart, it’s just a machine.
