CORPORATE PROFILEAsia-Pacific
One community, 24 hours a day
Since our founding in 1820, we have engaged in the engineering, construction, and management of some of the largest and most technically advanced water, hydropower, mining and transportation projects for municipalities, governments and multi-national private corporations throughout the world. Through our involvement in water engineering projects, the role of MWH, now part of Stantec, is to help manage water purity and availability in a sustainable fashion for the health, livelihood and security of people worldwide.
In Asia-Pacific our highly experienced team of approximately 1,200 employees provides innovative, sustainable solutions to some of the most challenging projects in communities around our region. We partner with clients to implement
projects and programmes that span initial planning phases through to construction and asset management in the water, energy, transportation and natural resources sectors.
On 6 May 2016, MWH joined together with Stantec to create a global community of approximately 22,000 employees working in over 400 locations. Stantec shares the MWH commitment to design, to a global growth strategy and to market diversity. Our culture and values align. Both MWH and Stantec are leaders in providing a full range of services to meet the challenges of our diverse client base, and we’ll be even better together. We believe this merging of talents offers an exciting future for our clients.

INFRASTRUCTURE ASSET & MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT While MWH, now part of Stantec, is
globally recognised for our expertise in and leadership of the water, wastewater, energy ports and waterways markets, our track record in the transportation, natural resources and mining, and industrial and commercial markets is growing rapidly. In fact, in Asia-Pacific we lead the industry with our transportation asset management tools and approaches.
With strong and enduring client partnerships that span years, and even decades, our clients include local, regional and national governments, public and private utilities, private sector organisations, as well as financial institutions and insurers.
Enduring client partnerships
Making a difference
Right across Asia-Pacific we help our clients solve their unique challenges with more efficient and sustainable use of assets and natural resources.
We respond to common needs around the region like ageing and inefficient infrastructure, increasingly scarce resources and the increased threat posed by climate change in the form of more destructive natural events. Adding to this complexity are constrained or reducing resources and budgets, increasing environmental standards, and more engaged stakeholders and communities.
We create value for our clients by helping them do more for less with smart ideas, technology and programme management approaches. Our local knowledge, coupled with our global expertise, qualify us to go anywhere to solve our clients’ challenges in more creative and personalised ways.
With a long-term commitment to the people and places we serve, we have the unique ability to connect to projects on a personal level and advance the quality of life in communities across Asia-Pacific.

Why we are different
Creating communities
Firewood for families We teamed up with local road contractors and the transport agency to chop and deliver
firewood felled as part of road maintenance to families in
need.
Fundraising for cyclone victims
Following the devastating February 2016 Tropical Cyclone
Winston, we donated US$50,000 to the Fijian
Disaster Relief appeal. Staff also volunteered for clean ups
and fundraising to help the community rebuild.
Safety gear sent to South Africa
Excess project-branded safety gear is continually donated to Re-Boots, a not-for-profit that
helps impoverished developing communities in South Africa to
deliver safer community projects.
Keeping parks clean For several years employees
have participated in the Business Clean-Up Australia Day, helping to clean up local parks during lunchtime to contribute to a
cleaner environment.
Christmas gifts for conservation
Over nine years we have donated more than NZ$250,000 to a series of annual Christmas conservation projects in lieu of
client gifts. Projects have helped native fauna and flora recovery.
Solar lighting to rural India
Through a donation of US$50,000 to Lighting a Billion Lives program,
our people have given solar lighting to 2,500 villagers,
reducing CO2 emissions by
750 tonnes over the solar lantern’s life of
10 years.
Our employees are dedicated to fulfilling
our purpose of creating communities.
We are proud of the contribution we
are making with our clients and through
our activities to create a more
sustainable future. Making a wish come true
By donating its prize money from the New Zealand Bike Wise Challenge, we helped purchase bicycles for sisters
suffering from a rare congenital defect.
