range of lighting – The Acclaim Fresnel 6o- 60o

has a soft edge beam that can be

easily blended together with others for

even illumination. Very suitable for

drama usage. The Acclaim Zoomspot is

available in standard or wide angle. It has

a very defined beam that can draw

attention to a definite area of the stage.

AGING WITH LATEX

A special-

effects

makeup artist

by the name

of Dick

Smith, first

invented this

popular

method of aging. This method has

been used for many films throughout

the years and with practice can

produce a realistic effect. You will

need –

� Appropriate base makeup

� Liquid Latex

� Foam latex applicators

� Hair dryer

� Translucent Powder

� Powder puff and powder

brush 1) If the latex will be added

over finished makeup, keep

the makeup base to a

minimum.

2) To form wrinkles to the

back of the hand, get the

subject to form a fist so the

flesh on the hand is tight.

3) Soak up latex in a foam

wedge and stipple a thin,

even layer of latex over

back of hand.

4) Force dry with warm

hairdryer until latex ‘cures’.

Latex should now be semi-

clear and a little sticky.

5) Powder latex with

translucent powder and

unclench the fist, the skin

should form small fine

wrinkles.

6) To deepen the effect add

another layer of latex,

repeating steps 2-5. All

powder can be gently

removed with a damp

sponge.

7) To create wrinkles on the

face, gently stretch a

section of the face and

apply latex to stretched

skin.

8) Dry with warm blow dryer

until semi-clear. Powder

latex before releasing the

skin.

9) Continue on to another area

and when face is finished,

wipe off powder. Now

details such as wigs or hair

white can now be applied.

under stage lights. Solution – Apply cream makeup, set

with ‘Setting Powder’ & spritz area

with ‘Barrier Spray’.

Problem – Makeup sweating off.

Solution – Apply ‘No Sweat Skin

Prep’ before applying base makeup

& follow with Setting Powder.

Problem – Need to

cover skin blemishes,

birthmarks or tattoos?

Solution – Our range

of ‘ProColorRings’.

For tattoos or large

birthmarks, use‘Tattoo

Cover’.‘Concealer’

corrects dark circles or

shadows on the face and

‘Neutralizer’ corrects any underlying

skin tones or discolorations.

Problem – Intricate Designs are

smearing off.

Solution – Either using Barrier spray

on finished makeup to set it or for an

almost ‘tattoo-like effect, paint on

‘Fixative A’ over design.

Problem – How to get an easy &

effective scar effect.

Solution – Paint on ‘Rigid

Colodion’. To deepen the effect add

a second coat and gently pinching

skin together as it dries.

HIRE DEPARTMENT

Ashton Admor has a large sound,

staging and lighting department and can

organize anything from a single piece

of equipment to a full outfit, including

installation. We are also able to do

either indoor or outdoor events.

If you require it, we can show you how

to operate our hire equipment. Or an

experienced operator can be provided

for sound or lighting control. You can

also pick up and set up yourself or we

can deliver and set up for you.

We can also design and install your

production set to your needs. To make

storing and moving of your collapsible

staging easy, we also design stage

trolleys.

Chris Stace our Hire Manager, will

make sure you receive the professional

hiring assistance you need.

This is an excellent tool for the school

principal at assemblies and award

presentations. The lectern

can be table standing or

floor standing. Your

lectern can be hired or

purchased including a

suitable microphone if you

require it.

STAGING

Ashton Admor can provide quality

Rostra portable staging to be hired or

purchased. Our staging can be made to

measure. The wood tops are available in

black carpet or painted finish. Standard

top size 1.2 x 1.8m. The stage can be

dressed in black, red velour, blue, green,

white or any other colour choice.

The staging comes in heights of 300mm, 600mm or 900mm. For your

convenience, we have experienced staff

to install your staging to the highest of

standards and can also hire out steps and

ramps for wheelchair access.
