Chapter (59) sūrat l-ḥashr (The Gathering) Sister Eman al Obaid Class 18 – Feb 1st 2020 Only Allah swt can gather our lives by His Names and Attributes. We need to believe we are poor and unable to gather anything except by the Might of Allah swt. Allah swt brings us to the study circle, not because we receive an invite or we know the class schedule. Knowing Allah swt

Loving Allah swt or

Worshipping Allah swt FEELINGS Surat al Hashr brings out the feelings of love, hope and fear – Allah swt is able to bring out any type of feeling that is within us as we don’t own them. We are not pure, we are not at peace, we can’t dominate, we are limited. We cannot be ‘one’ – only Allah swt is ‘One’ and the only ‘One’. We need to be together, we need to complete each other. We don’t own our feeling, our utterances, our worship or even our actions. You cannot even produce a blink of the eye. You cannot produce a letter of a word, you cannot have a voice to speak; you cannot even have small or little feeling’s because we don’t own these things. We are not ‘pure’, we are not ‘peace’, we are not ‘irresistible’; we are not ‘one’; we are groups, we are partners, we need to be together, ‘hashr’. No one can be ‘one’ because we need each other. LA ILLAHA ILLALLAH Even your devotions, your actions and your worship in the qadr, you cannot make them to happen when sitting alone at home. You cannot bring out the belief in you when you are alone. You cannot bring out of you any utterances or feelings of worship when you are alone because who is one alone, who is the one who is ‘One’. La illaha illAllah – Allah swt. Chapter (112) sūrat l-ikhlāṣ (Sincerity) 112:1 Say, "He is Allah , [who is] One, 112: 2 Allah, the Eternal Refuge. 112:3 He neither begets nor is born, 112:4 Nor is there to Him any equivalent."

Everyone is in need of Allah swt and everyone needs each other to worship Him. You will not see the truthfulness of the believer’s, you will not see that the believer’s are winners; and you will not be inspired to make du’a if there is no situation and there are no disbeliever’s. Also if there was no Shaitan you would not understand. If there were no hypocrites you would not understand yourself. Allah swt is the only ‘One’ and we need ‘hashr’ in order to believe and to show our devotion and need of Allah swt. So much of our worship cannot be extracted, cannot be produced, said or felt unless we go through ‘hashr’. If our lives were just one straight line then where is La illah illAllah?

Where is the fear, where is the love, where is the hope?

If there is no withholding in life how will you understand the giving.

If the there are no doubts in your life how will you understand when something in life is being elevated.

If you do not see death how will you recognise life.

If you do not see the disbelief how will you know the belief.

If you did not see hypocrisy how will you understand and realise the truthfulness. If you did not feel fear how will you know what is security.

We have no power. Only Allah swt is the One in control of everything, in control of every creation, in control of every utterance, every decree. Allah swt created all the legislation and all the laws and is in charge of the recompense and the result. Allah swt is the One in Whose Hands is the reward and the punishment. WHO IS ALLAH SWT? 59:23 He is Allah , other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Perfection, the Bestower of Faith, the Overseer, the Exalted in Might, the Compeller, the Superior. Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him.

Al Malik Who is Allah except no one, except Him, He is Al Malik! We need to understand AL MALIK. What will make me to understand AL MALIK? What will make me to believe in AL MALIK? What will make me to react to the Name of Allah AL MALIK and to know that I don’t own anything? My mind cannot think, my heart cannot feel, I cannot pray, I cannot do anything except if Allah swt gives me the power because Allah swt is the Owner. 59:22 He is Allah, other than whom there is no deity, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed. He is the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. In His Hands is the treasure of everything. I don’t own anyone and I don’t own anything. I don’t own anything - Allah huwa AL MALIK, He is the King. You know Allah swt knows everything, and when you know Allah swt knows everything you will hope only from Allah swt and you will only fear Allah swt. Then you feel that Allah is the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. Allah swt will extract the true feelings from you as He puts the mercy in our hearts to deal with everything together. If there is no mercy we cannot be together, we cannot survive and we cannot handle ourselves. So then how can we handle certain situations or handle other people? After your heart is filled with so much hope in Allah swt mercy because you know Allah swt knows

everything, then you will see another ayat which contains a very distinct and special Name of Allah swt which will make you magnify Allah swt even more. You fear Allah swt and you hope only from Allah swt because you love Allah swt.

Let us glorify AL MALIK. Let us exalt AL MALIK, let us fear AL MALIK, let us hope from AL MALIK, let us all love AL MALIK. KING OF THE KINGS I don’t own anything and no one owns anything. Not in anyone’s hands is the recompense or the punishment. No one can harm you and no one can

benefit you. No one has the treasure of anything. No one can motivate you and no one can discourage you except by the permission of AL MALIK. No one can give to you or withhold from you by their might and power because they are not the king, they are not the ruler and they are not the owner only by the permission of the King of the Kings. We need to free ourselves from the feeling that I have ownership or someone else has ownership. We need to be free in order to have the Pleasure of Allah and the attachment to Allah swt.

AL MALIK IN THE LANGUAGE Malik – the one in whose hands is the freedom of authority; in his hands is the owning of everything, the owning of the power; the one in his hands is the authority of what to do and what not to do. The one who is above everyone else.

AL MALIK is not only for Himself but also for others whether they listen or they don’t listen; whether they know or they don’t know. In the Arabic language AL MALIK is the One having the free authority and power to do everything. Sometimes we own something but we cannot guarantee we will own it forever. Sometimes I want something but I cannot grasp how I will have it. Sometimes you ask from the people to give to you but Allah huwa AL MALIK. Allah swt is in charge of everything and Allah swt owns everything, nothing happens in this life without Allah AL MALIK. BELIEVE We need to believe in AL MALIK with conviction and with affirmation. Sometimes you own something but someone else can have power over you, or can make you incapable or resist what you want done. This can be your own children, your own household, your own car or even my own money. Sometimes we go through situations which are irresistible and somebody will dominate my dominion. It could be a small ant, it could be small child, it could be a sickness, it could be a tyrant, or it could be someone quite insignificant that I never even thought about. OUR OWNERSHIP When we feel we have ownership and that we have the power we will feel tired. It will bring different types of sicknesses and disease. This could be someone trying to dominate others, this could be a tyrant, this could be someone oppressing the people or harming others. When people think they have ownership and that they have the power it causes so many diseases and sicknesses and can also affect the wider society. This attitude creates sparks between the people and divides the people. PERMISSION OF ALLAH SWT All the problems are because I feel I have ownership or others feel they have ownership. But when I feel I don’t have ownership I can live a peaceful life. Everyone doesn’t have ownership but when someone shows you that they have ownership, this is Allah swt giving them permission. So you will not blame, you will not scold, you will not demand and you will not associate with Allah swt another partner. You feel as if you are really living in peace. You will be pleased, you will be patient, you will be content, you will be grateful and happy as you know what is your position in this life. A SLAVE To be in this life as a slave is a pleasure as you will enjoy a VIP service as The King swt will take care of you more than you can take care of yourself. When people feel they have the power, feel that they are ruling, or think they are getting what they want; but actually they are living as a slave to the power and the money. Actually, they are not getting anything because they feel so stressed and sad and everything becomes difficult for them. SORROW & HUMILIATION A real slave is waiting to ask from the King, hoping from the King, believing in the King and doing whatever the King wants from you without any resistance, then you will really be a king, a king of yourself as Allah swt will really honour you in Paradise when you are a slave. When you are a slave feeling that you have ownership, you will be a slave all the time with sorrow and with humiliation. This is different from someone who will be free. A KING & HONOUR

The only solution is to go back to the slavery of The King, to be the slave of the KING of the Kings, and you will be a king and you will be honoured. Allah swt will make you to own everything, you will get everything because you believe in Him so for sure Allah swt will give you something that no one else can give you except the King of the Kings. This is Allah swt Al Malik. Firstly I need to purify myself and feel as if I own nothing then I will enjoy and live in real happiness, live with satisfaction, live in tranquillity and in live peace.

The Kingship or ownership has three components. Every part makes you to feel at rest and at peace and you really feel that there is no one else except Allah swt so you will worship only Allah swt. You cannot have kingship without these three things.

To be a perfect king you need: 1. Something related to the king himself 2. Something related to the others themselves 3. The relationship between 1 & 2. So firstly we have the quality and attribute of the king. Secondly we have the attribute and description of the ones being owned.

Sometimes people own something but they are not showing anything for it so it is not complete. And thirdly is how the perfect king manages and deals with the imperfect, poor creation. Sometimes you have everything but those who are owned manage themselves, they have no boundaries. Knowing the Names of Allah swt makes you to understand the people and to understand what is the real perfection. For example we need a teacher to teach us. The teacher has to do the task of her job in order to teach. 1 The King The first attribute of quality is the most important. You need to believe that for the kingship the perfect quality to be a king is confirmed only with Allah swt. Every perfect quality, all the Names and Attributes of Allah, even the tiniest actions of Allah swt are all perfect. Your King is perfect from all aspects. ALLAH SWT BEAUTIFUL NAMES AND PERFECT ATTRIBUTES When Allah swt is ruling He is not looking from one dimension, Allah is looking from all dimensions because of His beautiful Names and perfect Attributes, and the best actions. You need to believe that Allah swt is perfect in all the actions. Allah swt is perfect in His Kingship because He has the complete power and ability. Nothing can stop in front of Allah swt. He is Irresistible, the Dominant and He encompasses everybody by His knowledge. He knows everything that in His Dominion. There are no distractions or no focusing only on one thing and forgetting about something else. Maybe you

own something but you don’t know every component of it, or you don’t know how it works or maybe you can’t benefit from it. WHAT DO YOU NEED? Whatever Allah swt wills it will happen, Allah swt is completely disposing of all the affairs. Allah swt is perfectly Compassionate, completely Merciful. Allah swt is the King with complete Power and complete Authority and Dominant, but at the same time He is the Most Compassionate and Passionate. Allah swt is showing so much mercy to you and love to you which fills your heart with so much gratitude and love towards Him. Your King is perfect in all the attributes from all aspects so whatever you need, Allah swt has it from all aspects. JUDGEMENT Allah swt Judgement is Perfect. Allah swt is AL MALIK in the dunya and AL MALIK in the akhirah. Even the dead Allah swt owns. Allah swt owns every single particle. Allah swt owns the good and the bad. In His Hand’s Allah swt owns everything even Shaitan. POWER If you believe Allah swt owns shaitan, has power over shaitan, Allah has power over all the devils, all the bad people; Allah swt has power over all the viruses and even the microbes, so do you give power to the viruses, do you give power to shaitan? Allah swt is the King, nobody owns themselves. Allah swt is the Owner, so Allah swt decrees what he decrees.

What a beautiful combination, Allah swt is King but He is the Most Merciful so you do not fear any unfairness.

It will be shown to the creation on the Day of Judgement the real King and the real Honour, the perfect Kingship with the most beautiful qualities. Your King is not one you are afraid of or you magnify, or you bow to or you respect. Your King is the One worthy of all your love and attachment. You will hope from Allah swt after you fear from Him, after you magnify Him. Allah swt is the King.

2 The Creation

Believers are slaves, disbeliever’s are slaves, shaitan is a slave, the mountains are a slave, everybody is a slave. Everyone is in desperate need of Allah swt because every cell is invoking Allah swt. Even for the disbeliever, the cells of the body are asking Allah swt and Allah swt will give

to those cells. Sometimes Allah swt gives to you before you ask, and because Allah swt owns everything He will make it come to you. No one can go out from the Kingship of Allah swt and no one can be self-sufficient from Allah swt. We are here, why are we here? We are here because the King brought us here. Because we are poor, we are in need. Allah swt made us to exist without us asking. Allah swt provides for us without us asking. And Allah swt benefits us asking. Allah the King averts from us anything that will harm us because He is the King. I am so happy to be a Slave of Allah swt because Allah swt will give better than what I am asking. SLAVE OF ALLAH Everyone, knowingly or unknowingly, willingly or unwillingly is a Slave of Allah. However there is a huge difference between someone who chooses to be a slave, and someone who feels they need to be a slave of Allah, or is desperate to be a slave of Allah. The disbeliever does not feel the slavery but Allah swt wants then to feel the slavery when there are no means, when there is nothing. When you feel you cannot do, you cannot say, or you cannot speak or I cannot save myself from what I am facing, Allah swt will show you that you are a Slave. It is a big blessing to be a Slave of Allah. We may say we are a slave but how does it feel to be a slave;

when you reach a dead end,

when all the doors are closed,

when all the means are disabled;

when everyone is not giving you what you want? Then I declare that I own nothing and I go back to the Slavery of Allah. Then you will be taken care of and receive the best treatment because you have gone back home, you have gone back to yourself, I have gone back to the real purpose of my life, the real purpose of my existence. This will make you a king in Paradise which will be the real honour. To be a Slave of Allah swt is an honour. To be a Slave of Allah is a big opening and when we are not slaves of Allah swt we are slaves of money, the slaves of people, the slaves of the sickness, the slaves of anything. Allah swt is the real King because everyone is a Slave of Allah swt and is in need of Allah swt.

No matter how much I resist I will return to Allah swt. Sometimes we think we can manage by ourselves but we need to be connected to Allah swt all the time. In the end everyone will return back to Allah swt. Even the disbeliever will return back to Allah swt.

We have nothing, we are poor, we are in need, we are in need of Allah swt. We are in need of Allah swt to enrich us. If I feel that I am not in need of Allah swt, Allah swt is able to exchange us because Allah swt wants people to be in need of Him and to be asking Him.

OUR PURPOSE The people Allah swt brings as a replacement will be more poor to Him, more enslaved to Him, more fulfilling of the purpose of the creation of the human being. Allah swt created you for this purpose, to show to you His perfect Names and Attributes and to show you His Perfections. If there are no human beings than how will this show. To be a Slave of Allah swt is a big purpose. We don’t own ourselves, we are really in need of Allah swt.

WE DON’T OWN ANYTHING. We don’t carry our provision, Allah swt provides for you on the spot. Sometimes I have my food with me, I have my drink with me, I carry it all with me but I cannot benefit from it.

THE PROVISION And sometimes I don’t have something, and Allah swt will bring it to me on the spot. Sometimes I don’t have the words to speak, but Allah swt from His treasures will inspire me to know what to say as my provision. Even the thoughts and ideas we do not own. Sometimes I want to write down my thoughts so that I don’t forget them, and sometimes I don’t have any thoughts or idea’s al all, I don’t even have a pen. But Allah swt will provide for you in order to act upon your thoughts or ideas. Allah swt is the All Hearer and the All Knower. Allah swt hears the whispers of your provision, He knows how much you need it, He knows the quantity of the provision required; one word or the whole book; one sentence or the whole paragraph. WHAT WILL ENRICH YOU? Only Allah swt will enrich you. The life with Allah swt is the most beautiful life. Everything is so perfect, and everything will be taken care of.

3 The King Manages the Creation

How Allah swt takes care of His slaves is with the best treatment. Allah swt manages everyone, whether they want to be managed or whether they don’t want to be managed. Allah swt decides every decree in His Dominion. Allah swt will judge, no one can reject

His decree. No one can interfere in His judgement. The judgement belongs to Allah swt from all sides. Even if we comment upon it will not affect what Allah swt wants. It has to happen. If all of creation wants to harm you, they cannot harm you. If all the creation wants to benefit you, they cannot benefit you except by what Allah swt decides. The first decision if from Allah swt, the second decision is from Allah swt and the third decision is from Allah swt, and what is needed from us is slavery to Allah swt. My job is to be happy, to appreciate and not to interfere in Allah swt decisions or judgement’s as I will be tired. I will be so tired that I cannot even think or I cannot grasp what Allah swt wants from me. How Allah swt disposes the affairs also has three points. Imagine you at home, who is the boss? The one in charge needs to organise the home – where everything will go, when things will be done, what are the rules of the house. The boss will then decide the reward or punishment for following the rules or for not following the rules. No matter where it is, if there is no one in charge it will be absolute chaos.

2. Shariah - Rules and Legislation Allah swt informed us of the rules and legislation through the Messengers, and with the Books. Allah swt made it known what is halal and what is haram, what you need to believe and what you need to do has been made clear.

3. Jazah Allah swt will reward, will protect, guide and love. Allah swt will decide the recompense and the punishment in the dunya and in the akhirah. When I know Allah swt is in control of everybody I will accept the decree, accept the shar, accept the recompense; then I will not blame the qadr, I will not be rebellious from the shar, and I will not interfere in the judgement of Allah swt. In the end no one has input in any of this. Your input is in Allah swt and in Rububiyyah, slavery to Allah swt and to show you are a Slave of Allah swt. This is the Ism Allah Al Malik.

Allah swt will enrich you, Allah swt forgives you and disposes of your affairs removing any distress. Allah swt will give you the victory, Allah swt will take your rights from the worst of the people. Allah swt can release you, make you a free person. Allah swt will enrich you, He will console you. Allah swt will cure you, He will accept even your faults, He will accommodate you. Allah swt will conceal your sins, He will give you the honour, and Allah swt can humiliate you as well. Allah swt is the one giving, and He is the One withholding. Allah swt is the One circulating the people, He is the One bringing people up and He is the One bringing people down. Allah swt is the One opening the minds, opening the hearts and He is the One Who will close everything. Allah swt will drag the decree with chains to come to it’s destination. Everything Allah swt decreed, ordained, judged is preserved in the Preserved Tablet before the creation of the Heavens and the Earth 50,000 years ago. This is the perfect Kingship. Nothing can come before and nothing can come after. Allah swt is the One taking care of and disposing all our affairs but He is the Most Compassionate, full of Mercy, full of love, and He is dealing with the creation with justice for the sinners, and with favours to the good doers. Nothing will be out of place with Allah swt so His Mulk’Allah will be perfect. Mulk’Allah is so great you cannot count it, you can surround it and you cannot perceive it. Mulk’Allah is stable and established, no one can remove it. Mulk’Allah, it will increase, even if He is giving to everybody. No one can interfere in Mulk’Allah. Mulk’Allah is the True King.

HOW SHOULD I BEHAVE? What should I do, what should I feel? I don’t own my feeling, I don’t own anything. Allah swt is the King. When you believe that Allah swt is the King you will feel His Greatness that He is the Creator and the Provider and this will make you to hope from Him. You

will hope more from Allah swt especially as when you will ask, nothing will decrease, so you will not feel ashamed to ask Allah swt anything. You will not hope from anyone to give you anything; you will have the full hope only in the King, only the Owner can give me anything, even if it is contrary to all the rules of the world because He is the King. One of the slaves who is a king, a Prophet and a Messenger who knew that Allah swt is a King is Sulaiman AS. Allah swt gave Sulaiman AS mulk, but he knew best that Allah swt is the real King. So what about us?

The more you know Allah swt is AL MALIK the more you will beg and ask Allah swt. Sulaiman AS made this du’a and Allah swt gave this to him. So ask Allah swt, for sure ask Allah swt, nobody can have the likes of what Sulaiman AS had, but he asked.

The Name of Allah AL MALIK makes your heart to open up and you are always hoping from the King without any accounting. And from the King, if you believe in Him, and show your slavery to the King Allah swt will treat you as a king. Believe in the King and you will be a king. Show your slavery to the King and Allah swt will set you free from your own slavery.
