A terrific addition to our clubrooms and thanks to everyone who has had a part to play in it. Seeking some feedback…. The monthly dinner and movie nights are becoming popular, so we’d like to seek some feedback on what members want. Do the movies have to be “flying “based ? If so do members prefer documentary types of films or those based around flying? If not what sort of movies do members like? Would it be a good idea to have two movies – ie: put one on earlier for people with young kids and show a kids movie first? Do members value the dinner/movie nights? Illnesses around the club… It’s the cough and cold season and we are not immune at the ASC…. …7693 has the flu… and has some breathing difficulties being diagnosed with low compression. The engine will be sent back to Jabiru for diagnoses and repair (under warranty.) It could be out for a month or two…. …Tom has had an op lately but is recovering well… …Angela is going in for knee op soon and we wish her all the best… …BOT has had a case of the hiccups but is getting better… Photos from around the Airfield…
ASC Strategic Plan At the last Committee meeting a considerable amount time was spent on this and we’re pleased to announce that….the end is near! And when the document is finalised, we’ll be sharing it with members asap. Thoughts and thanks…. Thanks to Ken Mc for painting the yellow lines on the taxi ways Steve Lovegrove for his work around the airfield. Those working on our Solar project. Those working on fixing up our hangar stuff!
15th September…not a great day for flying…
Lost anything? The office has had a motor vehicle key handed in. (Single key on key ring. Ring looks a bit rusty so may have been there for a while) It’s for a Toyota & was in the grass between the carpark & machinery workshop. . Bar Manager We were in need of a new Bar Manger…. But now we’re not. Thanks Rob Richter for taking this on. Joey Glide Joey Glide is a get together of junior glider pilots (UNDER 26 YEARS OLD). There are 2 parts to the event, there is the junior nationals and also a coaching side to it, to help introduce pilots to x/c and competition flying. This soaring season they are being held in Waikerie from JANUARY 12 TO 19. It is great to have it in SA and gives a great opportunity for our junior pilots to attend. It would be great to have a good attendance by ASC pilots. (If SA does not support it then it probably wont come here too often). There is no doubt that the ASC would fully support pilots that want to go and aircraft could be made available. If you are under 26 and have interest in competing or participating in coaching please let me know so we can get the ball rolling. I am personally happy to attend to do some coaching in our 2 seaters and I am sure more coaches would make themselves available. Let’s get a big ASC contingency together and support this event. It is the perfect place to meet and get to know other young people with the love of gliding. If you would like more information, contact me anytime.
