Remark

By comparing the Electrical Rules & Regulations between Australia & Myanmar, while the relevant rules related to High

Tension Line installation, Electrician Registration, Rules & Regulations related to electrical power generation, Rules &

Regulations related to testing & verification of electrical equipments, Rules & Regulations related to lightening arresters,

Rules & Regulations related to electrical power Transmission+ Practice rules for the permit holders of electrical power

transmission etc are written with strong codes in Myanmar Electrical Rules & Regulations.

But regarding the consumer level electrical installations ( Single Phase 230V AC (Myanmar) ) , the rules related to

selection, sizing, installation of wiring systems, selection of protection equipments are too general in Myanmar Electrical

Regulations. Especially, while earth fault protection is strongly mentioned in AS3000:2007 for consumer level electrical

installation ( Single phase 240V Ac(Australia)) & ELCB (Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker, RCD-Residual Circuit Devices etc) are

well utilized in electrical installations systems of Australia, such aspect is still lack in Myanmar Electrical Regulations.

Selecting the size of cable for electrical installations is very important for any electrical installations. Because improper

size of wire can cause the over heating & electric fire.

In AS3000:2007 , calculation of maximum demand for various electrical installation systems in described in details. But in

Myanmar Electrical Regulation lacks how to determine the maximum demand of the installation.

In AS3008, cable selection rules are widely used in electrical installation system of the various electrical installations in

Australia, the information related to cable selection are lack in Myanmar Electrical Regulation.
