ARTS MINISTRYThe Arts Ministry is a diverse community with a range of experience. The Wesley Players reach members of St. Luke’s and the greater community with a wide variety of talents and gifts. Groups perform in worship services as well as regular productions, both musical and dramatic.
WESLEY PLAYERS performs 2-3 productions annually, both spring and fall. All are welcome to audition when posted. Productions include: Godspell, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Mary & Joe 4-Ever, Don’t Kick the Turkeys, Steel Magnolias, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Other 12 Disciples, Pure as the Driven Snow, Fiddler on the Roof, The Sound of Music, God’s Favorite, The Music Man, Little Women, Our Town, Tied to the Tracks, Requiem for a Superstar, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Amahl and the Night Visitors, Broadway on Broadway, Dear Edwina, A Christmas Carol, She Loves Me, The King & I, Nunsense, Pirates of Penzance, Les Miserables, Into the Woods, The Princess Bride and more! PUPPET MINISTRY conveys spiritual messages to a diverse community and audience. If you love participating in a highly unique way, then this is the ministry for you! Come and join in the fun. MUSIC MINISTRY
The Music Ministry program extends an open invitation to anyone wishing to share their musical gifts and talents.
BRASS ENSEMBLE Active in worship services throughout the year, and includes trumpet, french horn, trombone, euphonium and tuba. No age limit. Music level ranges from easy to medium. Rehearsals: Selected Saturday mornings; Leader: Chris Rigolini
CHANCEL CHOIR Participate in worship services throughtout the year. Sing a wide variety, ranging from traditional to contemporary sacred. All levels welcome. Rehearsals: Thursdays 7-8:30pm; Leader: James Ramsey
FLUTE ENSEMBLE Participate in Sunday services and special events. Dust off the old flute and get back to playing. No age limit. Music level ranges from easy to medium. Rehearsals: Selected Saturday mornings; Leader: Kay Coryell
GRACE NOTES Small gospel choir ensemble that sings for services throughout the year. Rehearsals: Selected Thursdays; Leader: Ken Mervine
MINISTERS OF SWING (MOS) Full complement big band and jazz ensemble that plays benefit concerts and dances throughout the year. Music level ranges from easy to medium. Rehearsals: Some Saturday mornings; Leader: Chris Rigolini

MEN’S CHORUS invites all men to give this fun ensemble a try. No long-term commitment, no singing experience necessary, only a desire to “Sing unto the Lord” and enjoy fellowship. We sing seasonally. Membership in Chancel Choir is not required, although, you are certainly invited to attend. Rehearsals: Selected Thursdays; Leader: Ken Mervine
SISTERS OF SOUL (SOS) Small group of 10-15 women who sing soul-filled gospel style tunes. Occasionally sing during services, and bring this music to nursing homes and other places in need of lively song. Rehearsals: Selected Thursdays Leader: Ken Mervine
ST. LUKE’S ORCHESTRA All instruments. “Cross-generational” ensemble. Rehearsals: Selected Saturday mornings; Leader: Chris Rigolini
ST. LUKE’S WIND ENSEMBLE All band instruments. “Cross-generational” ensemble. Provides an opportunity for families to play together. Rehearsals: Selected Saturday mornings; Leader: Chris Rigolini
TINTINNABULATORS ADULT HANDBELLS 5-octave handbell choir that plays in worship services once a month. All are encouraged to join. Rehearsals: Tuesdays 7-8:30pm;
WORSHIP BAND performs on Sunday mornings and supports the worship experience. If you are interested in participating, contact James Ramsey. Rehearsals: Wednesdays or Thursdays; Leader: James Ramsey
CHILDREN & YOUTHCHERUB’S CHOIR Age 3 - Grade K Learn Christian
values through song in a nurturing environment. Develop motor skills through movement and instruments. Perform a few Sunday worship preludes and special events. Parents encouraged to attend rehearsals. Rehearsals: Wednesdays 6:30-7:15pm; Leader: Kim Hendreschke
JOYFUL NOISE YOUTH HANDBELLS Grades 7-12 Youth build their musical skills ringing handbells. Rehearsals: Tuesdays 6-7pm; Leader: Kay Coryell
KIDZ PRAYZ Grades1-3 (Primary) | Grades 4-6 (Junior) Learn to sing and play instruments. Develop cognitive skills by engaging in a variety of musical activities. Children perform in Sunday services 5-6 times/year. Rehearsals: Wednesdays 6:30-7:20pm; Leaders: Kay Coryell and Angela Alderson
ST. LUKE’S YOUTH JAZZ ORCHESTRA (SLYJO) Grades 6-12 Have a lot of fun playing jazz! Perform at selected worship services and events. All levels welcome. Rehearsals: Sundays 3:30-4:30pm; Leader: Chris Rigolini
SOUL PURPOSE YOUTH CHOIR Grades 7-12 No previous experience needed. Sing in morning worship once a month and throughout the year for special occasions. Rehearsals: Sundays 4:30-5:15pm; Leader: James Ramsey
TONE CHIMES invites children grades 4-6 to participate in this fun and musical program. No experience needed. We will explore music by playing tone chimes. Rehearsals: Wednesdays 7:25-8:00pm in Asbury; Leaders: Kay Coryell and Angela Alderson
