Artemis fowl Artemis fowl is the story of a young boy with a not so innocent mind. To be precise Artemis fowl is a criminal mastermind at the age of twelve. He is on a mission to save his father. But poor Artemis does not have enough funds. The once huge criminal empire of his father had dwindled since his disappearance. Artemis though is not easily deterred. He leads a mission to kidnap a fairy. With a loyal bodyguard like “butler” and a friend like Juliet he is successful in capturing a fairy. The fairy is not any ordinary fairy. She is Captain Holly short of the lower elements police force (LEPrecon). These fairies are a little different from your kindergarten fairies. They live underground in a city called haven fully equipped with high tech machines and weapons. but don’t let this high tech deceive you. With almost eight sentient species trying to live in an already crowded city, Haven can hardly be called that. Artemis captures holly with the intention of taking the legendary leprechaun gold as ransom money. Captain holly who is already in trouble due to non replenishment of her magic gets into more trouble when the LEP has to create a time stop to rescue her. Things aren’t simplified for the fairies as Artemis knows exactly what their next move would be. Finally the LEP resort to calling Mulch Diggums – a criminal who is not affected by the ordinary fairy laws regarding forced entry into houses. He is successful in rescuing captain short but not before captain short saves Butler’s life. Captain short though rescued is not able to leave the house without the permission of Artemis Fowl. Finally Artemis agrees to let go half of the money in return for a favor and her freedom. He aks her to cure his mother of her sickness.
