Aunt Mei , an immigrant , offers dumplings (ingredienthuman fetuses) to Mrs. Li ,a former tv star, thatpossess rejuvenating power according to Chinesetraditional beliefs so that Mr Li could get attracted to

the recovered youth of Mrs Li. Illegally ,Kate s fetus was also used by Aunt mei for Mrs

Criticism of ancient superstitions in Chinesesociety :

movie is a satire on Chinese tradition ofcannibalism and indicate that its totally

superstition that eating special dumplingsmade up of human fetuses by Mrs Li andAunt Mei has great effect on regaining youth

or rejuvenation .

In this movie an element of social disfame isattached with the kate pregnancy that resultsin illegal abortion of kate by Aunt Mei.

In an innovative way criticism of traditionalChinese superstition like cannibalism has beenachieved on a great extent.

Newly growing mysterious and ridiculesattraction of modern rich middle class society ofHong Kong towards cannibalism for regaing youth

and rejuvenation for self use without caring themoral value as a whole .

Kent is a symbol of sufferings indicating theabsence of proper social ,political andeconomical conditions for society and especially

for women as a whole.
