His role models are Jan Vermeer, Andrew Wyeth as well as Edward Hopper. One critic defined his work as “Hopperesque, but happy.” His paintings relate a mood and tell a story in which painting and beholder are mutually implicated. Works depicting aspects of rural America and Great Lakes landscape prevail in his repertoire. Liz Thomas presents Partly Cloudy: watercoloring the Sky. Liz paints the beaches and landscapes of Harbor Country with special focus on the clouds that float, always’ above them. Her watercolors celebrate the beauty of the ever changing sky and that gorgeous sunset you never wanted to forget.
