Lesson One- Natural Inspiration

Nature as Inspiration• Take a walk through the park, visit the woods, watch a river or

stream and get inspired!• View several images of objects found in nature. Print and bring in

your images to share with the class. Discuss what interests you about the images.

• Use one or more of your images to create a painting that has been inspired by something in nature.

• Use acrylic paint on an 11”x17” canvas or canvas paper of the same size.

• Write a 100 word artist statement explaining your painting and how your images inspired you.

• Present your statement and painting to the class during a critique.
