English Year 11 Christmas Holiday Homework

1. In your CGP English Language Revision Guide read up to page 30 and then complete the Exam-Style Questions on p31 and 32.

These 4 questions need to be completed on paper and emailed to your teacher or dropped in to school By January 8th 2018

Extension: Read up to page 40 and then complete the question 1+2 on page 40 and 47

2. Complete the revision summary on page 19 – you should write this in the revision guide – it will be checked!

Extension: complete the revision summary on page 41 after completing extension 1.

3. Complete character profiles for 3 characters in ‘An Inspector Calls’ from your revision guide. . These must include: Evidence to support each point of the 4 sub sections: What are they like as a person? What do they look like? How are they treated by others? How do they change?

4. Complete annotations of all Love and Relationship poems from the anthology (15 in total) if you are in Miss Donachy’s, Mr Cargill’s, Mr Short’s or Miss Noronha’s class. Use MissHannaLovesGrammar on Youtube to support.

Annotations should include: what ideas or imagery are expressed in each stanza, what methods/poetic techniques the writer has used and what effect they create. There should be at least 10 annotations per poem.

Tasks 2-4 will need to be handed in to your teacher on your first day back to lessons (January 15th).
