The Cardinals travel back to Los Angeles this week where they will face the Chargers in their fi rst-ever appearance at StubHub Center. Arizona played in Los Angeles (vs. the Rams at the Coliseum) in Week 2 earlier this season. Both the Cardinals (23-21 vs. Oak) and Chargers (23-22 vs. Den) are coming off narrow losses in which the game was decided on a fi eld goal as me expired. This week, the Cardinals and Chargers meet for his the 14th me in a series that dates back to 1971. Sunday's matchup marks the Cardinals fi rst regular season matchup with the Chargers since the team returned to Los Angeles in 2017. Arizona is playing its fi rst road game against the Chargers since 2010 and is looking for its fi rst road victory in the series since 2001. WR Larry Fitzgerald will be playing at StubHub Center for the fi rst me, and with a catch the venue would become the 41st diff erent stadium in which he has at least one recep on in. Fitzgerald also enters Sunday's game needing just six recep ons to pass Hall of Fame WR Jerry Rice (1,281 with San Fran-cisco) for the most recep ons in NFL history with a single team. This week's game will feature two of the most prolifi c TD scorers in NFL his-tory in Fitzgerald (7th all- me with 114 TD catches) and Chargers TE Antonio Gates (6th all- me with 116 TD catches). Two franchise stalwarts, Fitzgerald and Gates have combined for 31 NFL seasons and 458 total games for the Cardinals and Chargers, respec vely. One Arizona player who has played at StubHub Center is rookie QB Josh Rosen, who in 2013 led St. John Bosco High School to a victory over state powerhouse De La Salle in the Open Division championship game in the fi nal game of his junior season. The Cardinals are coming off a 23-21 loss to the Raiders last week in a game that was decided on a last second FG. Trailing by six points (20-14) entering the fourth quarter, Arizona scored a go-ahead TD with fi ve minutes remaining on Larry Fitzgerald's second TD of the game. However, a series of penal es wiped out a poten al game-sealing TD drive on the Cardinals next possession and the Raiders were able to get into posi on for the game-winning 35-yard FG. The Chargers (7-3) are coming off their fi rst loss since Week 3, falling 23-22 to the Broncos last week. Denver kicked a game-winning 34-yard FG with no me le on the clock for the win. Next week the Cardinals head to Wisconsin for a Week 13 showdown against the Packers at Lambeau Field. Arizona will travel to Green Bay looking for its fi rst road win against the Packers since 1949.
