    ARGENTINA INFLATION RATE

    The inflation rate in Argentina was last reported at 10.6percent in January of 2011. From 1944 until 2010, theaverage inflation rate in Argentina was 215.46 percentreaching an historical high of 20262.80 percent in March of1990 and a record low of -7.00 percent in February of1954. Inflation rate refers to a general rise in pricesmeasured against a standard level of purchasing power.The most well known measures of Inflation are the CPIwhich measures consumer prices, and the GDP deflator,

    which measures inflation in the whole of the domesticeconomy.

The GDP official exchange rate was $301.3 billion in 2009. While the GDP growth ratefell to -2.5% in 2009, it was at 5% and 7.5% in 2008 and 2007, respectively,mirroring the adverse effects of the global recession. The GDP (per capita) was

    $13,800, according to the 2009 estimates, and was $14,400 and $13,600according to 2008 and 2007 estimates, respectively. Argentinas agriculture,industry and services sectors contributed 8.5%, 32.2% and 59.3%, respectively,to the nations GDP, according to the 2009 estimates.
