Valdez Argentina Report
Oct.-Nov. 2015
Areawide Ladies’ Day
In October, we enjoyed one of those days
we only experience about twice a year. This
time, it was the Urquiza Church of Christ that
hosted the event. We had between 50 and 60
women from at least 8 of the 9 existing
congregations in the capital and the greater
Buenos Aires area.
Congregational Work Day
Dario Lopera and Dante working during work day.
On October 12, Columbus Day, we took
advantage of the holiday to have a work day at
the Caballito c of Christ building. It had been a
looong time since we had had one, so there was
lots to do.

So good to see the
Hances this month. They have been very supportive of
the work here. Thanks for preaching and for a
wonderful marriage class. Come back soon!
H HhhMothers’ Day
The third Sunday of October is a very
special day for Argentines during which they
honor their mothers in special ways…It is
the day when more restaurant reservations
are made for family outings. This day was
also special because Alejandro Lopera
preached his first sermon at Caballito.
After services, we shared a special time
with the mothers of the congregation with
small gifts and flowers.

A cappella Concert-Evangelistic
Outreach
On Saturday evening, the 21st of November,
the Caballito Church of Christ invited the
community to our annual evangelistic
outreach to the community that we try to
have every November. The youth put
together a skit that emphasized the
cleansing power in our lives when we give it
over to Christ in baptism. Please continue to
pray for the ongoing spread of the gospel in
the city of Buenos Aires and the rest of the
country.
Courses in Basic English, Japanese
and the Memory Workshop-
Outreaches to the Community
The Basic Japanese class on Saturday afternoons is an
outreach that brings in many young people and gives us an
opportunity to invite them to youth activities and worship
services. Maria Laura teaches this class and also
organized the end of the year event for them this
past Saturday. She also taught a Basic English class.
The Friday afternoon Memory Workshop is another
community outreach facilitated by Antonia Aguero. Many
of the senior citizens who attend have also been attending
worship on Sundays as well as other activities. This past
Friday was the last session of the year and they enjoyed a
special afternoon together. These types of community
outreaches create the opportunity to know our
neighbors better and to enter into a relationship with
them that will open the door to being able to share
the gospel with them. Please pray for these contacts
and the continued growth of our relationship with
them in the coming year.
Please Keep Osvaldo’s Mom in Your
Prayers!
Osvaldo’s mom, Adelina, with Sis. Eduvigis on a Sunday
at Caballito
Osvaldo’s mom has had a series of health problems
this year. After several days in the hospital, the
doctors discharged her. We have hired two ladies to
help and Osvaldo’s siblings will take charge of her
care as we leave for furlough. We will be visiting our
supporters in New Mexico and Texas this year.
Maria Laura will join us at Christmas after she
finishes her semester at university. Look forward to
seeing you all! Please pray for transitions and our
safe trip. Thanks so much for all you do. May God
bless,
Thank you so much!
