Area 15 is a radical re-imagination of an entertainment complex built upon a traditional mall model. It is a space that creates a critical mass of edgy, exciting, niche counter-culture interests. However, instead of retail products, this model meets consumer millenial generation trends by selling theme immersive participatory experiences. It does so by taking a design cue from futuristic distopian themes and imagery ingrained in the familiar future lexicon to thread a common narrative and drive synergies and traffic between activations.
