focus on prospects for our industry.

Expect analysis of consumer sentiment,

commercial and residential construction,

and retail capital expenditures, and how

they impact demand. Included in his

presentation will be data on new store

construction and renovation. Hear first

hand his forecasts for the retail industry

and the economy as a whole to help you

determine your next steps.

Keynote: What’s Ahead for Retail?Amidst a constant flurry of retail

market reports and economic analysis,

it is difficult to separate truth from

media hype or rumor. Data on what

areas of retail are expected to increase

expenditures on retail environments

next year is needed.

In this general session sponsored by

VMSD, Dan Stanek, executive vice

president of Retail Forward Inc., will

discuss the current retail landscape

and how the recession is affecting

consumer buying habits. He will detail

the consumer trends that are affecting

retailers’ capital expenditure decisions.

By exploring the challenges ahead in

the post-recession economy, he will

help you discern which retailers have

the best chance for sustained growth.

The retail panel gives attendees the

flooring materials, and visual properties. He was the recipient of the 2002 Chairman’s Award for his team’s efforts in supporting the company’s im-proved store environment. JCPenney achieved its sales and profit objectives for 2002, the second full year of its stated five-year turnaround plan.
