Pixel RevoltColumbia University, New YorkThe Fairchild Center has evolved since its construction in 1970s. Many of the laboratories that once served as work spaces for research have been replaced with computer labs and traditional office spaces. What has not changed is the mechanical system. The strict sterile environment required for labs is used for the entire building. This project is an attempt to hybridize the buildings performance by having it react to the building’s new organization and use. While the labs need to maintain complete mechanical conditioning and artificial lighting, in contrast the other spaces within the building have more flexibility.

Projective Care UnitAccra, GhanaLocated within a new corporate park the proposed free pediatric clinic has very little in common with the surrounding offices and commercial businesses. This project attempts to prompt these different groups to engage with each other through the sharing of resources. The key design move is the creation of a public park within the clinic which acts as an informal meeting place.

Flash ParkingSyracuse, NYLike many American cities Syracuse’s downtown is filled with parking lots. These parking lots are part of the commuter culture that has been prevalent in the city since the 1960s. During the working week these parking lots are filled with cars however the rest of the time they are left empty. This project proposes a scheme of alter existing parking lots to allow for a degree of flexibility. These parking lots have the potential to be used for numerous social activities and can be viewed as a new urban park.
Pegboard ArchitectureFlorence, ItalySituated outside the historic core of the city this community center and art gallery is geared to local teenagers. Without a permanent art collection the design is meant to have a high degree of flexibility for the continuous changing exhibition. This is achieved through a digital media wall which acts as a kind of infrastructure..

Taking StockAkron, OhioLike many other Rust Belt Cities, Akron, Ohio has developed a new economic identity after the manufacturing decline of the 1980s. In the case of Akron it has come in the form polymer manufacturing. This project attempts to understand this development through the mapping and analysis of this economic shift.

Student Teaching TheaterUniversity of Souther Indiana/Holzman Moss BottinoFor more than 2 months I worked on this theater as part of an architectural team. The project consists of a new theater and lobby. My role in the project was focused upon developing the design and construction drawings for the lobby area. In doing so I had the opportunity to create a physical model and do research on heavy timber.

Bohemian HallNew York, NY/ EBM EngineeringAs a structural consultentI I assisted in the renovation of an 18th century building in New York city. My most significant role was the design of a spiral stair that cuts through the center the building. I was integrated into the design process at the very early stages. I worked closely with the architect to develop constructional form and material character. The stairs final form was very much driven by the engineering.
