Guilds. I also had an advanced year doing Larder Preparation, which incorporated spending six months working in Garmish in Germany in a hotel. 4. Did you have a mentor who encouraged you during the early stages of your career? If so, who and why were they inspirational? I worked at The Manor Hotel in Meriden and worked for an Executive Head Chef called Peter Griffiths who allowed us to compete in live competitions. He is now the Head of Salon Culinaire at NEC in Birmingham. He strove for perfection and developed us as chefs in our early years after college. 5. What do you regard as being your biggest achievement to date? Winning student of the year award at Henley College in my final year. Also getting recognition for work that I have done whilst working for ARAMARK in the last 4 years 6. What industry ambitions would you still like to achieve? I would like to move up the ladder within ARAMARK and definitely see myself staying with the company as they have a wide variety of job roles. I would like to either move into Purchasing or Operations in the next year or so. 7. What gives you a buzz about your job? No two days are the same and also seeing a site that has potential to be made into one hell of a business 8. Would you recommend the industry to potential recruits? Absolutely, as we all need to eat that’s for sure! 9. What are your top 3 tips to people entering the industry? You will need:

• dedication • to have a sense of humour and • be a team player
