On Thursday, February 9, 1989, the U.S. Environmental ProtectionAgency ("EPA") will meet with the potentially responsible parties ("PRPs")in connection with the Eastern Diversified Metals site ("Site"). Themeeting will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the Federal Building, Room 3306-3310,6th and Arch Streets, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

As you know, EPA previously sent your company an information requestletter under section 104(e) and/or a notice letter under section 106 ofthe Conprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and LiabilityAct of 1980 ("CERCLA" or "SUPERFUND"), as amended.

In April 1987, EPA invited PRPs to an organizational meeting inPhiladelphia. Since that time, two PRPs: Theodore Sail, Inc., the siteowner/operator, and AT&T Nassau Metals Corporation, a generator, havesigned an Administrative Order by Consent with EPA. Under the AdministrativeOrder by Consent, the above-mentioned PRPs are performing the RemedialInvestigation/Feasibility Study ("RI/FS") with EPA oversight.

At the February 9, 1989 meeting, EPA will provide an update on thestatus of work being performed at the site. In addition, EPA will providea better understanding of past and future response costs at the site.Theodore Sail, Inc. and AT&T Nassau Metals Corporation will then discusstheir response costs. EPA strongly encourages PRPs to attend this importantmeeting.
