A noun must agree with (or MATCH) the adjective that describes it in:!

1.number (singular or plural)!

2.gender (masculine or feminine)

Adjective Placement

Descriptive adjectives (perezoso, alto, etc.) are generally placed after the noun.

Limiting adjectives like mucho, otro, and numbers are placed before the noun. !

Definite (el, la, los, las) and indefinite (un, una, unos, unas) articles are also placed before the noun.

If a noun is…!

masculine!

singular!

Then the adjective…!

does not change

Ejemplos:!

el muchacho cómico!

el amigo inteligente

If a noun is…!

masculine!

plural!

Then the adjective…!

becomes plural

Ejemplos:!

los muchachos cómicos!

los amigos inteligentes

If a noun is…!

feminine!

singular!

Then the adjective…!

changes its -o to an -a!

OR does not change at all

Ejemplos:!

la muchacha cómica!

la amiga inteligente

If a noun is…!

feminine!

plural!

!

Then the adjective…!

changes its -o to an -a AND adds an -s!

OR if the adjective ends in a letter other than -o, just add -s or -es

Ejemplos:!

las muchachas cómicas!

las amigas inteligentes!

las clases fáciles
