PROVEN PROCESSES: TAILORING
Without tailoring, IM and FHC testing can require as many as 39 All Up Rounds (AURs).
Tailoring can be accomplished with:
1. a good Threat Hazard Assessment (THA)
that identifies life cycle threats; and
2. successful completion of sub-scale testing.
The ability to successfully tailor IM and FHC testing comes from experience, knowledge and understanding of the associated processes.
* IM and FHC tests are harmonized

EXPERIENCE
APT has working relationships with personnel at multiple explosive test sites nationwide and experience operating within each organization’s parameters.
As a DOT-approved explosive examining agency, APT is
partnered with several test sites to ensure a broad base of
testing capabilities, including:
Eglin AFB, Valparaiso, FL
Dahlgren NSWC, Dahlgren, VA
UTEC, Riverton, KS
And, through our DOD work, we have tested at most
national ranges in the US, including many at:
Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, China Lake, CA
Dugway Proving Ground, Dugway, UT
Yuma Proving Ground, Yuma, AZ
White Sands Missile Range, White Sands, NM
What does that mean
understanding of the important aspects
of testing, like how to obtain priority
status for a program and how to
ensure test preparations progress in a
timely manner.
program’s priority ranking on a range
to increase from #824 to #2. The
series of tests occurred ahead of
schedule.

RESULTS
Thermocouples
Reliable means of collecting
and converting the data
Test Reports Quick Look – provided to customer within five days post-test
Usually consists of post-test photos, video and preliminary
pressure data analysis
Final Test Reports – time dependent on type and size of test article
Report contains analysis of pressure data, video, photos, and
fragment/debris data for determining what kind of explosive
reaction occurred
The only reason to test is to obtain data. Therefore, after safety, the most important aspect
of a test is to obtain quality data, and the right data, to support the decision making process.
Soup to Nuts – APT has the experience, proven processes, results, and personnel to achieve complete success… doing it right the first time!
