Why Home Staging ?

Q. Dear Sue, What is your opinion regarding home staging? Thanks, JW

A. Great timing on this question now that we are entering the strong spring housing market! I consulted with a Professional Stager, Holly Reimel @ Beautiful Living, to whom I refer my clients, and here is her answer.

Why home staging? Remember, you never get a second chance to make a good first impression!

Real estate staging is the process of preparing a home for sale, to enhance it and help it sell quickly and for top dollar. Staging your own home can be challenging, since we have lived in our homes and grown accustomed to our lifestyle. Buyers want to envision their future home, their dream lifestyle. You want your home to appeal to the broadest range of buyers.

Staging is a combination of marketing and merchandising the home and may include:• Rearranging the furniture, art,

and accessories• De-cluttering, depersonalizing,

and organizing the home

A successfully staged home is:• Well decorated• Light filled• Clutter free• Spacious (even a small room

can be perceived as spacious if staged properly)

A professional stager works with Realtors and homeowners to bring out the best in the home so that it sells in a timely manner and for top dollar.

Remember, you never get a second chance to make a good first impression!
