The work of SWALIM is guided by the Somaliland InterMinisterial Coordination Committee IMCC Somaliland Monthly Weather Bulletin April 2010 Ministry of Agriculture Widespread of Gu rains in Somaliland Summary The Gu rainy season peaked up during the month of April in Somaliland with many stations recording well above normal rains. Rainfall Most stations within Awdal and West Galbeed regions experienced above normal rains in the month of April. Specifically, Qulanjeed received 40 mm of rainfall while Borama, Hargeisa and Dilla received a total of 162 mm, 126 mm and 178 mm of rainfall respectively. This has came as a relief to the community following the failed previous rainy seasons. Other Weather Parameters In general, the weather observations at Borama and Hargeisa Automatic Weather Stations (AWS) remained within normal conditions with enhanced rains. Hargeisa recorded a daily mean temperature of 29 0 C while Borama recorded 21 0 C. There was reduction in wind speed as compared to the previous month. The relative humidity increased slightly from the previous month. The monthly evaporation in Hargeisa also decreased compared to the previous month. The table below summarises the weather observations as recorded at Hargeisa and Borama AWS.  Widespread of Gu rains in Somaliland
