In the Rick Faries Gallery is Susan and Joshua Adam. During their stay in Bermuda they completed beautiful works of our scenery and landscape. Both posses very different styles of painting that both contrast and compliment the other. Josh and Susan Adam met at Colorado College, where they had adjacent studios, and have been painting together since, 33 years and counting. They are co-owners of a gallery in Maine, and this is their second show at the Rick Faries Gallery. They were artists-in-residence in 2014. Both artists enjoy the unique light and colour of Bermuda, but approach their subjects in different ways. !Susan prefers to simplify and abstract her subjects in an attempt to evoke a sense of calmness and connection in a static and sometimes disconnected world. “Two years ago my paintings were mostly about the buildings around St. George’s this time it’s all about water views”. !Josh’s work is rooted in realism, stemming from his beginnings as a plein air painter. “I looked for a way to highlight both the flowers and turquoise waters of Bermuda by setting up floral still-lifes on the water’s edge. Our next exhibition is the IB programme student art show which opens April 13th entitled “The Penultimate”. This collaborative exhibit showcases the talent of our young artists in the community who aspire to continue their fine art education. This show runs until April 25th 2017.

Note to our Volunteers!!We will be hosting a series of wine tastings throughout the year in our Rick Faries Gallery. This event is sponsored by Burrows and Lightbourn and we would love any volunteers who would be willing to greet guests. Please call 299-4011 or email [email protected]. The dates can be found on our website.!!For our current exhibition “A Room with a View”, there are notes compiled with information outlining the show and can be found at the front desk for our volunteers to read . If you have any questions we are happy to help. !!Art Openings- April 13th we will have our next art opening featuring works by the IB student art programme. We are looking for volunteers to help greet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. EducationIts almost time for the annual Ag Show! Masterworks Museum will be offering FREE art courses during April 20th, 21st and 22nd. These workshops are for ALL ages (children under 5yrs MUST be accompanied by an adult). We are offering everything from abstract drawing and painting wine bottles to surreal sculpting, there is something for everyone! To maximize the amount of participants we are limiting each individual to one workshop so register now before spots fill up. Contact [email protected] or call 299-4000 to register now! Admission into the gallery and museum will also be FREE during these dates so come on in and enjoy our 30th anniversary exhibition!

Pinot & Pastel! Relax, Unwind and Enjoy! Join Rebecca Martin May 4th, 6:30PM-8:30PM at Masterworks Museum for a course in pastels! This is for all levels of experience and all materials are provided! Art Workshops
Adrienne Smatt will be hosting a series of workshops throughout the year, one Tuesday a month. Learn how to paint in a creative and inspiring environment while enjoying one of a kind cocktails by Twisted Spoons. 6:30PM-9PM at Masterworks Museum in the Classroom. Reintroducing Masters Art Class For Senior School Students Ages 15-18
Are you Passionate about Art?
Do you want to further your Art Education before enrolling in Art Collages and Universities? This class may be for you!
Classes will include (but are not limited to): Further development of fine art
Studying the Masterwork’s Permanent art collection Learning curation skills
Developing multi techniques in a variety of mediums Learning Bermuda history in art
Working with Bermudian Artist to further skills and learn professional techniques
Developing a research workbook to reflect your practice as a developing artist

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 week ago!!Many famous artists spent time in Bermuda- not surprising considering its beauty. We enjoyed our visit here to learn about the many who worked here. Our favorite painting was the above referenced work. Worth the trip but the museum is much more then that. Worth a visit- do go.!
