In Alaska, about 37% of Alaskan women have experienced sexual violence. In every region of Alaska, our 22 member and affiliate programs offer shelter, resources and traumainformed advocacy to victims of sexual assault. At ANDVSA, we work throughout the state with advocates, law enforcement, educators, healthcare professionals, tribal programs and community partners to support survivors and strengthen communities. We provide training to community members and firstresponders like healthcare professionals and law enforcement; offer pro bono legal services to survivors, advocate for policies and legislation that supports victims and coordinate prevention workgroups. We work with educators, teens, parents and male mentors to prevent sexual violence before it ever begins by defining consent, discussing healthy relationships, encouraging a change in social norms, and increasing bystander intervention. We are inspired daily by courageous stories of survival and we are moving forward with more statewide partnerships than ever before, each committed to ending sexual assault and creating safer and healthier communities.
