Can we be holy as God is holy? Let’s look first at the word consecrate. It means to set apart or devote yourselves to the service of God, to make a commitment to serve the Lord with all your heart soul and mind. After this we must ensure our relationship with the Lord is similar to that of Abraham and David. The Bible says in three places (2 Chr. 20:7, Is. 41: 8, and James 2:23) that Abraham was called a friend of God; First Samuel 13:14 tells us that David was a man after God’s own heart (1 Sam 13:14). As your relationship with the Lord increases, so will your holiness. We cannot be perfect, but we can be holy. Leviticus 11:44 says, “Consecrate yourselves therefore and be holy for I am holy.”

11:44, “Be ye holy for I am holy.” What is God saying when he asks us to be holy? Can we

be holy as God is holy? Let’s look first at the word consecrate. It means to set apart or devote yourselves to the service of God, to make a commitment to serve the Lord with all your heart soul

and mind. After this we must ensure our relationship with the Lord is similar to that of Abraham and David. The Bible says in three places (2 Chr. 20:7, Is. 41: 8, and James 2:23) that Abraham was called a friend of God; First Samuel 13:14 tells us that David was a man after God’s own heart (1
