ROGER K. HANLIN, PLS BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Hanlin is a second generation surveyor with over 32 years of experience in the private sector. Licensed in 1988, Roger is currently the Director of Surveying for MHM Incorporated, a full-service Land Surveying and Civil Engineering Company, established in 1892 and located in Marysville, California. Roger has been with MHM, Inc. most of his professional career (1989) working on a wide variety of projects for members of the public, private companies, and public agencies. The work has involved numerous boundary surveys, land planning, land divisions, aerial mapping control surveys, topographic surveys, right of way acquisition, and quality control surveys as examples. Other contracts have been for services as City Surveyor for West Sacramento, California (14 years) and Oroville, California (3 years). MHM, Inc. has also provided on-call surveying services for the City of Yuba City and Placer County. Roger is a strong supporter of community and professional outreach programs and volunteers time as a member of the Northern Counties Chapter conference/ workshop committee to provide annual workshops for regional surveyors. Roger has also volunteered his time to provide field demonstrations on conventional, robotic total station and global positioning system surveys to the engineering surveying classes at Yuba College for the past several years and speaks at local career fairs on the opportunities available with a career in surveying and the benefits of a professional association. Roger acknowledges CLSA has provided significant professional growth and a positive impact throughout his career as evidenced in the timeline below and will strive to provide inspiration to all on the opportunities available within the surveying profession and benefits he has experienced through membership in CLSA. CENTRAL COAST CHAPTER CLSA MEETING was held March 16, 2016 at 6:00 PM at Madonna Inn, San Luis Obispo, CA

(Cristi) APPROVAL OF MINUTES MOTION by President Cristi Fry and SECONDED (J. Walsh) to approve the February 16, 2016 Chapter Meeting Minutes as published in the March Parallax. (Call for vote – Ayes 100% (Cristi Fry) PRESIDENT’S REPORT States that Officers announce they are still breathing and vertical. Congratulations to Dave and Teri Kerry on their great-grand baby. Education blog is growing with good stuff being added. VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT No report.

We have received $1275 in Trig*Star donations. Announces 44 chapter members. (Ian) DIRECTOR’S REPORT No report- absent (Tom Mastin) EDUCATION COMMITTEE and ADHOC COMMITTEE No report, home sick. (Cristi) PROFESSIONAL PRACTICES COMMITTEE No Report. (George) TRIGSTAR COMMITTEE REPORT Receiving positive responses from 4 schools. Ken Fargen is in for Righetti again. (Cristi) OLD BUSINESS -none. (Cristi) NEW BUSINESS George Marchenko needs to coordinate with State to reconcile members list. Outreach: Jonathan Walsh will be volunteering at Cuesta College this Saturday. Jesse Brady and Randy Ellison are measuring discus throws for the track and field at SLO High School. Doug Rion announces he is retiring March 16 and that Ed Reading is hired as an Engineer 4 and being trained. Until the Board of Supervisor’s make a resolution appointing the new County Surveyor, Joe Morris (Deputy) is the Acting County Surveyor.
