Sing praises to the Lord, O you his faithful ones, and
give thanks to his holy name. For his anger is but for a
moment; his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may linger
for the night, but joy comes with the morning.
Psalm 30:4-5
The resurrection of Jesus is our surest hope. In Jesus’
resurrection, God has secured our futures. And what does our future
look like? It is a future of life and joy! This good news of our future
eternal life frees us to live our present moments with courage and
hope and joy. While we still experience pain, our weeping is
temporary, like the night. Our joy comes in the morning—the Easter
morning of Jesus’ victory over death!
This Easter joy is a joy that runs deep within our souls. A joy that
doesn’t ignore or deny the pain of this world or the pain of our lives.
This Easter morning joy encounters us and transforms us into
peacemakers and healers, people who are gracious and welcoming,
forgiven and forgiving. So come and worship and be renewed!
Below are Holy Week worship opportunities:
April 5th Maundy Thursday
10:30am and 7:15pm (Holy Communion
celebrated at both)
April 6th Good Friday
12:00 Noon Community Good Friday Worship at Trinity
7:15pm Tenebrae Worship service
April 8th Easter Worship
8:00am and 10:00am
This Easter, invite a friend or family member to Trinity to
experience the joy of a faith community transformed by God’s grace to
serve. Through this experience, may God’s love for you, revealed most
fully in Jesus Christ, transform your nights of weeping into mornings
of great joy!
Alleluia! Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!
With courage, hope and joy,
Pastor Tom

Baptism
Adults who desire to be baptized, or those who want to have their child
baptized, are invited to contact the church office. In the case of Adult
Baptism, candidates are encouraged to worship and attend the Sunday morning Bible Study.
Those who want to have their child baptized are asked to schedule a Baptism Preparation
session with Pastor Tom prior to the baptism. P.T. looks forward to talking with you! Please
speak with him if you have questions.
Saturday Morning Study
Saturday, April 14th and 28th, 8:30-10:00am, downstairs in the Great Hall
The Saturday Morning Bible Study meets on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month.
This month we are discussing faith. How do we live it? What if it fails? Our resources are from
the ELCA Book of Faith initiative inviting all to “open scripture and join the conversation” to
help us become more fluent in the language of our faith. Long-term study commitments are not
necessary; no prep is needed; no homework is assigned. It’s simply conversation. Join us as your
schedule allows. Bring your favorite Bible and your own experiences as we enjoy conversation
over our morning coffee. For additional information, contact Tammie at
[email protected] or 654-3256.
Sunday's Com'n
Each Wednesday morning at 8:30 am, gather with Pastor Tom in the Gathering Space to
reflect on the scripture reading for the coming Sunday. No experience necessary. We read the
text and share how it makes us feel and the thoughts and questions it generates. It's all good!
Caring Adults Wanted
These opportunities are available to help you connect with our Trinity kids during the
education hour each week. The "destination" is Gather in Grace (communion). I have the
curriculum and can help with planning.

April 8th - No Sunday School - Happy Easter
April 15th - Video for 3 year olds - Second Grade

Ushers Meeting
There will be an ushers meeting on Palm
Sunday (April 1st) between services in the
Gathering Space. All ushers are encouraged to
attend. Please contact Woody Knutson with
any questions at 658-3052.
Trinity Together
Just like peanut butter and jelly are great
together, Trinity is a great place because of all
the wonderful people of the different
organizations that call Trinity home. We
would like to unite and collect peanut butter
and jelly donations through April 16th. The
donations will then be distributed through the
Cupboard Bound Program at Trinity. Please
place your donation in the purple and red bins
marked “Trinity Together.”

Bingo Party
Social ministry will be hosting a bingo
party at the Dayton Residential Care Facility
on Thursday April 19th at 6:00 pm. We need
volunteers to help assist residents, provide
refreshments, and donate prizes. Some
suggested prizes are gently used clothing (size
XL), toiletries, snacks, & dollars bills. They
especially like electric razors. There will be a
sign up sheet and a labeled box for prizes, in
the Gathering Space. If you have any
questions please call Nancy Lehrke at 694-
2624. The Dayton Residential Care is a 90 bed
Facility for Veterans with disabilities.
Casual Brown Baggers
Sunday
April 29th, 11:30 am - 2:30 pm
Come in your work clothes for service on
Sunday and stay to help Spring clean the
church (bring your own brown bag lunch if
needed). Sign up in the Gathering Space. We
are looking for at least 20 volunteers to help
get our church in tip-top order. Come for as
long as you can. Any question? Contact the
Property Ministry.
Crafters and Quilters
If you have items to be transported to
Lutherdale for the August Festival, they must
be in the church office by Sunday, June 3rd.
Thank you for your support of Lutherdale.
Spring Fling Luncheon
Trinity’s third annual salad
luncheon will be on May 3, 2012
from 11:30 am till 1:30 pm. All
are welcome; the price of the
tickets will be $7.00. Thank
you, Linda Kluck.
Help Wanted
Trinity needs a new Sunday Nursery
Attendant. Work is every other Sunday, from
7:45—11:15 am. This is a paid position. You
must be over 18 and love children. Please
contact Laurette Haines at 605-1353 if
interested. A background check will be done on
any applicant. Until another person steps up to
work in the nursery, we will only have staffed
nursery the first and third Sundays of each
month. Please consider helping out.
Announcing the
Announcements!
During the February council retreat, the
goal to improve communications was
developed with one of the strategies being to
have council members take turns sharing
announcements following each service. So if
you have information that you would like
shared, clarified or emphasized, please let the
announcer for that Sunday know about it
before the start of the service. Thanks for your
support in improving communication at
Trinity!

Dear members of Trinity,
January and February were half and half months. During both
months the Unified Giving was enough to pay our bills, but the
giving for the mortgage was short.
What is Unified Giving?
Unified Giving is more than just the utility bills. It is our giving
for our synod (very important), salaries for all of our employees,
budgeted amounts for our Trinity ministries, etc. Your giving for the
mortgage, organ, sound system, etc. are all kept separately. If you
have any questions, please ask me.
Mortgage Loan Refinanced
Our mortgage is now a five year note at 4.50% with a 20 year
amortization. With the refinancing of our loan we took off 6 1/2
years of payments ($392,784.60). The new mortgage payment is now
$4900.83/month down from $5035.70/month.
Hope to see you all in church; keep everyone in your prayers,
Jim Lichtenheld
Treasurer
