Christmas Joy OfferingThe Christmas Joy Offering (taken on Christmas Eve or any Sunday until January

1st) is a Presbyterian tradition since the 1930s. It provides assistance for those who have dedicated their lives to the service of the church and supports leader-ship development and education at Presbyterian-related racial ethnic schools and colleges. Please pray about what you might plan to contribute.

Combined Worship December 28thWe will have a combined worship service at 10:30 AM on the Sunday after Christmas. The normal 9:30 & 11 AM services will resume the following Sunday, January 4th.

Wednesday Night Connect Begins January 7thTwo inspiring and intriguing classes are being offered on Wednesdays, January 7 through February 11: “Tapping into the Mystery 101,” facilitated by Jan Tay-lor, and “Same Sex Marriage: A Conversation with My Congregation (by Ken Wilson),” facilitated by Rev. Del Burnett. Find out more about them from the WNC card at the Hospitality Center. Join us these six Wednesdays for dinner, community, and illumination.

ADDITIONAL ITEMS & EVENTSSession Highlights from December 16th Meeting:

• In light of Hospitality Ministry’s focus on welcoming our Sunday worship guests, a new concept was considered and approved for new name tags and identify-ing folks who can provide assistance at Sunday Worship. In addition, Session designated the 2nd Sunday of each month as “Nametag” Sunday.

• Session continues to research an enhanced hearing loop system. On Sunday, January 25, a possible system will be demonstrated.

• Work continues with an architect on parking lot enhancement. • Heard a report from Admin of many building repairs this fall: boiler, roof leaks,

replacement of kitchen ovens.

Undecorating of the Greens January 4thJoin us after the Sunday@11 service on January 4th for a pizza and undecorat-ing party. With lots of people, it goes quickly!

Contemplative Listening January 8thCome for a time of experiencing the presence of God in a contemplative way. We meet in the Stephen Ministry Room (downstairs) from 9:30 - 11 AM. Fo-cus for Thursday, January 8, will be to review the practice of Visio Divina, then spend some time experiencing it. We love having new people join in. Call Jan Taylor if you have questions or... just come.

Blood Drive January 13thThe Red Cross Blood Drive is scheduled for this Tuesday, January 13, 1:30-6:15 PM. Someone needs blood, on average, every two seconds, and it can only come from generous donors. The process (registration, medical history and mini-physical, donation and refreshments) takes about an hour and 15 minutes, and could help save the lives of up to three people. Please call Jerry or Lola Morrison for an appointment.

Volunteer Needed to Transcribe SermonsThe Sunday sermons are recorded as audio tracks, but we have requests for printed versions, and we need someone who can spend about 60-90 minutes with a computer each week transcribing the audio fi le. Call Sarah Page for more information (503-363-9234).
