ApprenticewelderwinsmedallionatWorldSkills201502September2015TheWeldingInstitutewishestocongratulateWorldSkillsparticipantReeceTaylor,whosecuredamedallionofexcellenceforhisweldingeffortsatWorldSkillsSoPaulo2015.

The21yearold,whopreviouslytookpartinnationalweldingcompetitionSkillWeld,supportedbyTheWeldingInstitute,managedtoearnthemedalliondespitehavingbrokenhiswristthreeweeksbeforetheevent.Hewasoneof12youngpeoplerepresentingtheUKattheinternationalcompetition,whichsawmorethan1000participantsbattlingitoutformedalsinmorethan40disciplines,rangingfromwebdesigntobricklaying.

Reece,anapprenticeatDyerEngineeringandstudentatDerwentsideCollegeinCountyDurham,contributedtoanimpressivemedalhaulfortheUKteam.Intotaltheybroughthome33medals,includingthreegolds.
