Respect Code of Conduct •As a member of Battle Baptist FC, I will try at all times to abide by the

code of conduct set out by The Football Association in their

Administration Handbook.

•I will act in a sportsmanlike manner, showing respect to other Club

members, opponents, match officials & spectators.

•I will abide by the laws, rules & spirit of the game & I will avoid

gamesmanship.

•I will set a positive example to others, & encourage them to develop

their own sporting ability.

•I will behave well on & off the pitch (no alcohol to be drunk on

touchlines, no bad language or urinating )

•I understand that, if I do not follow this Code of Conduct, I will be

subject to sanctions from Sussex FA & BBFC & my membership will be

reviewed &/or ended.

On & off the field, & when using social media, I will:

•Adhere to the Laws of The Game.

•Display & promote high standards of behaviour.

•Promote Fair Play & not cheat or cause deliberate foul play.

•Never engage in blasphemous, offensive, insulting or abusive language

or behaviour.

•Never bully, intimidate or harass

•Speak to my team-mates, the opposition & my coach/ manager with

respect.

•Remember, we all make mistakes.

•Win or lose with dignity. Shake hands with the opposing team & the

referee at the end of every game.

•Always respect the match officials’ decisions. Do not argue with them,

or publicly criticise them.

Selection policy As a Church Ministry, we positively select suitable players from Battle

Baptist Church. Christian players will remain attached to each team. All

players must be prepared to play for any of the teams & we discourage

inter-team rivalry. Teams are selected after training on Wednesday &

match details are announced on the private BBFC Facebook page by

Thursday night.

Insurance BBFC arranges a level of accident & public liability insurance that meets

the FA’s recommended level. Players must make their own

arrangements for personal injury insurance.

Introducing BBFC

BBFC was founded in 2004. We:

•Run a successful club that continues to develop and grow.

•Play to win, but we believe that doing our best & playing fairly is more

important.

•Continue to finish high up in the Fair Play Leagues & win related awards.

•Share the Good News of Jesus Christ with men & their families through

football.

•Organise sporting & social activities that enable members to play & meet in

Christian fellowship.

•Encourage players, officials & spectators to enjoy life within Battle Baptist

Church.

Players are expected to: •Adhere to the Club’s Respect Code of Conduct (see page 4 of this leaflet)

•Let managers know their availability well ahead of matches (more than 2

weeks in advance please)

•Keep up to date with team selections via the BBFC Facebook page

•Turn up on time to matches & training

•Help team managers with all practical tasks (getting pitches ready, clear up

litter etc)

We encourage players to … •Be positive and have a friendly attitude to everyone involved in football

•Be enthusiastic about developing their football ability - skill, technique,

tactics & fitness

•Take part in pre-match prayers

•Be competitive but fair, meaning that yellow & red cards are a rarity

•Be open to the 4-minute talks about the Christian Faith at training, & to

coming to Church to hear more.

•Chat to Church people about any struggles or questions they may have.
