Application Guidelines for the Proposal-Based Research Program

With Corona Society -Visionaries for the New Normal -

I. Purposes

The University has been striving to create innovative and unique knowledge-production bases

to create new value. Making use of developments in each research field of natural sciences,

humanities and social sciences as well as wide varieties in researchers, the University has been

working on it through implementing R-GIRO program or Asia-Japan Research Promotion

Program etc. in Japan, an experimental field where falling birthrate and aging society have

arisen as a social problem ahead of many other countries around the world.

On the other hand, the outbreak of COVID-19 this year has had a profound impact on the

educational and research communities, upending conventional lifestyles, and its impact on the

entire society is seen to be prolonged inevitably. In addition, the world has already witnessed

changes in ways of working, value chains, service needs, technology, etc. due to the COVID-19

behavioral restrictions.

In order to make advancement in value-creation research toward the new coexisting society

that we have been striving for, we must look ahead to the new society after the spread of

COVID-19 (With Corona Society) and promote research under the different values of "New

Normal," bringing the diverse wisdom of the entire university together to contribute to society.

It is important as well to examine the concept of “With Corona” and “New Normal” from a

meta-level viewpoint.

To this end, this time we will call for application to the Proposal-Based Research Program

With Corona Society -Visionaries for the New Normal-. This program supports various research
